  1. I would like to work in obstetrics or dermatology. I'm not sure in either fields actively hire LPNs but I have worked in both as a medical assistant and I loved it. My main goal is to become and RN.
  2. Leticia- Mother of 2 amazing boys, Lab Tech, and FUTURE NURSE! CCBC (Maryland) LPN Start August 2103 3 semesters Graduate Summer 2014 It's been a long journey so far... Night school, weekend classes, school applications, a whole lotta NOs, wait lists, TEAS tests, and lots of tears. I finally got my YES! I am so happy, nervous, and excited! My goal is to become and RN. This is just the beginning!
  3. I went to take a look at the school in April.( there is a previous post from me about this school somewhere on here) I was very excited about attending but I was not satisified by the impression that the school gave me. I went to visit the school in April. There were other students in the testing center talking, laughing, and gossiping while I was taking my TEAS test--no one asked them to leave or be quiet--I had to remind them myself that others were still testing. The whole thing with the grades IS a bit extreme and i do not understand that at all. It is a way for them to make money--if you get anything less than a B--you will have to retake the class--and pay for the class all over again. The schools website makes it look better than it really is. Just my opinion. LPN class accepts financial aid but the RN program does not. I have learned to stay away from these "private schools". Plus i want to make sure my credits will transfer when I decide to further my education. Everyone is saying the Comprehensive Health Academy is a good LPN school. They have very good pass rates. My best friend is currently attending and she loves it.
  4. FurtureNurse_203, I am really considering starting classes at ECPI. I have spoken with the administrative guy and my next step is financial aid. I have a few questions that I would like to ask if you dont mind but i dont know how to send you a personal message. I would like to know if you are satisfied with the program and stuff like that. Do you feel like you will be prepared to take the nclex? I didnt even know about the evening program.
  5. Hey Everyone, I just enrolled in a nursing school called Global Health Nurse Training School WWW.GHNTS.COM they have LPN and RN. They accept financial aid too. Classes are offered in the day and weekend. NO WAITING LIST! The school is in Alexandria, VA, about 1 hour from Baltimore. Just wanted to let you guys know!
  6. Cabarrus County Community College has an LPN course and also the Cabarrus College of Health Sciences. I was considering ECPI too. I've heard the tuition was high but its a step closer to being an RN, which is my main goal.
  7. I wear Cherokee Work Wear, flare leg. Yes, they do drag on the ground a bit sometimes. I wear a 7/8 also, but in Cherokee scrubs I have to order a size small.
  8. Howard Community College has an evening program. You can do RN or LPN.
  9. Right now, I'm taking my pre-reqs at CPCC. There is school called Mercy School of Nursing. It is a hospital based RN program. You will receive a Diploma upon graduation. The waiting list is not so bad because they let in 140 students vs. 50-60 at other schools. Mercy is full accredited and you are able to transfer to BSN programs for degree completion. http://www.carolinashealthcare.org/education/mercyson/ should have admissions info.
  10. I like Cherokee Workwear. I get mine from scrubs and beyond. There is also a company called lydia's scrubs (online and catalog) that I shop from. There are plenty of styles and colors to choose from.
