Tennesee Nursing School Hopeful
I have taken the NLN for Southwest in August and made a 90%. I have also sent in the special admissions form way before the due date because my initial aim was for Southwest, anyways. I have taken almost all my pre-reqs. I have done most of the things besides the nursing courses. My decision to try out for U of M's nursing school was a last minute decision. Well, also, on my student record for Spring 2009 Southwest account says that the degree that I am aiming for is AAS Nursing.

Tennesee Nursing School Hopeful
Hello fellow nurses of Tennessee, I am getting really anxious and excited about nursing school. I cannot stop going to bookstores and libraries and looking at nursing school textbooks and guidebooks. I, even, found a "Nursing for Dummies" book. I, officially, did not make the cut for Memphis' nursing school because I requested for everything a month ago, but two of my transcripts have not arrived to Memphis yet. I am saddened that the BSN option is out, but I am very very hopeful about Southwest. Can somebody confirm to me and my anxiety that since my major and school on Southwest has been changed from Undecided to Nursing means I am already accepted? I know this is a stupid and common sense question, but I cannot help to feel uncertain. If it means that I am in, then, by golly, I will be going to Borders more and start looking over at Nursing textbooks more. As much as I would love to do that, I am still taking pre-reqs, so I have to concentrate on them and get good marks in those courses. I am excited and ready for Nursing school. I am hoping to be done within a year or so, and I know this will take lots of determination, concentration, diligence, patience, and energy-fixations. But, I am ready. Anyways, I thought I would share a bit of my anxiety. Jen

Spring 09 Hopefuls
Hi, I think that I am already in for Nursing School for Spring '09. I want to confirm that since my major and college was changed to Nursing before the due date that I have been accepted to Nursing School. I start in January, and I cannot wait. I am working part-time right now to earn money for books and gas, and I hope after I am done with my first semester that I can go find a nursing job or intern.

Nursing as a Second Degree
I have a B.S. in chemistry. I want to be a nurse since I was little. I am glad to have my B.S. in chemistry and went through the four years of college because those four years gave me insight to who I am and what I really want in life.

TEAS Versus NLN entrance exams
what's the format of the TEAS? For the NLN for RN because I know there is one for LPN/LVN, there is 60min of verbal for 80quest, 45min of math for 54 quest, and 60min of science for 80quest. All I can tell you is study the material as much as you can. For verbal, you have vocabulary and reading comprehension. For science, you are tested on biology, a/p, chemistry, physics, and micro. For math, you are tested on arithmetric, algebra, geometry.

Loewenberg Nursing School
I am going to have to stay with U of Memphis or Southwest because it is getting ready to be crunch time with nursing decisions. The reason that I am not trying out for Baptist although it would be nice to be in there program, too, is because I don't want to have to retake any courses if they do not like the ones that I have already taken. My gpa isn't all that hot either. Another is that I have already taken the NLN, and although, I was aiming for a higher score; I got a 90%. I had asked the admissions counselor at Baptist if they took NLN scores, and he said that they did not. I did not want to have to take the HOBET, too, well, for one, I am taking classes right now, and I want to concentrate on them, another is because I already taken an entrance exam, and another is because it feels like crunch time for nursing school admissions acceptances. Don't get me wrong. I am not discluding Baptist or anything yet. If I do go to Southwest for nursing school, I want to do the RN-BSN program at Baptist. I am a bundle of nerves right now...I am anxious. I want to know whether I got accepted or not. I would much rather get into the BSN program since I already have a BS in chemistry. But, I am satisfied if I get the ASN program instead because then I can get my BSN afterwards. No worries. No rush. I just want to get into a nursing school for Spring 2009. :)
