Starting pay for new ADN graduate in Nashville
You have to take into consideration shift differentials. That is where the 50>55K may come from. :)

TN License question
Thank you Donald for your reply! I appreciate your reply. Angyl..the BON was so nice to me! I had included my job offer letter with my date of hire with my application hoping that may help and I feel that it did. I feel it did because the BON called to tell me my application was approved. I know how you feel waiting...but it really is just showing that they have received your application and it is in progress for approval. I wish you the best!

Average Salary for ADN vs BSN
I work at a magnet hospital and have an ASN degree. (I am currently working towards my BSN because I want to do education) They hire both ASN & BSN. You DO NOT have to have a BSN degree to work in a magnet hospital. Also, that is ridiculous to think that the difference in the degree equates to lower standards of care and higher mortality for patients. I know that you worked hard for your degree. That is an accomplishment and you should be proud of it. However, I worked hard for my degree as well...ASN programs are not a walk in the park. I am proud to be an RN..and it doesn't matter if the degree is an ASN or a BSN.

TN License question
Hi Everyone! I have a question- I am applying for an endorsed license to TN. What does UNAPPROVED APPLICANT on the TN BON mean? I am not familiar with how the status goes for the TN BON. I will call the TN BON tomorrow to inquire as to the meaning of this- but thought I would ask someone on here as well! Thanks! : )

Interview for Psych paper-- Please!?
bump...

Nursing Student annoyed me
Maybe the instructor was a little behind the push for the pain meds? I know that my instructors are VERY big on a patient getting their pain meds when they are in pain. I remember seeing some of my classmates being scared that maybe the instructor will think they are not doing their jobs correctly if they do not get the meds to the patient in a timely manner. All said, sorry you had a time. :icon_hug:

Interview for Psych paper-- Please!?
Hello everyone! I am still a little new to this board; have read a lot and posted not so much. You know how busy it is being in school!! I have some questions for a psych paper that I have to write. If anyone could help me I would certainly appreciate it. (No pressure!) It is hard to get anyone to talk to me where I am located. The paper is about Community Mental Health Care 4 demographic questions and 7 specific questions. Any information would help! Demographic: 1) Name, location ( I understand for privacy of not giving personal information; this will not be shared with anyone or put into the paperwork. I am sure that I can make something up if I have a general idea of where you are) 2) Education level including degrees/ licenses 3) Type of profession and years of experience 4) Any specific education/training in mental health Specific Information: 1) What types of clients do you encounter in your practice? Include age ranges, diagnoses, acute or chronic situations, other descriptions? 2) What type of care or interventions do you provide to the menatlly ill? 3) What presents the most challenge to you in working with the metally ill? 4) What positive outcomes have occured because of your interactions with such clients? 5) What suggestions do you have to improve mental health care in the community? 6) How do you increase awareness of the needs of the mentally ill in your community? 7) Any other comments that you would like to share? ** Thank you so much. Even if after reading this you decide that this is not for you..I thank you for the consideration of just even taking the time to read my request! :paw: :paw:

Don't "click" too well with classmates
I can relate to the feeling out of place within the nursing school students. I personally maybe have a handful of friends in the class. But, I personally am not there to socialize. I am there to learn. If I make friends in the process, great. But if not then that is ok. However, you have to think of how stressful and hard that nursing school is for each and every student. I know I am focused on doing well and retaining what I am learning. I do not have time to make friends and get together with people. I do what I can to stay where I am in my studies. So, the other students not returning your friendly gestures should not be taken as much offense. It is hard to be friendly, funny and lively when you are riding on little to no sleep. I hope that things get better for you..

What I Love About Nursing Is....
People like you are what inspired me to become a nurse. (I have seen the difference between those that really care and those that do not.) I am glad to know that when I graduate next year, that there are nurses like you out there that I will be working with side by side! Keep it up! You are an encouragement far more than you can know. :rcgtku:

Shut up when I am giving you report...
Excellent advice. Thanks for sharing. I know everyone of us can use that advice sometime within our life.

Shut up when I am giving you report...
I am sorry for your experience. I know how frustrating it can be to try and talk to someone and have them interrupt so many times that you cannot get in much of what you want to say! You did a good job. You showed much class. :hgu:

I am sorry for your experience! I know how it can be. I just keep my mouth shut and do what I need to do. I do not understand it but it is there. I wish you the best! :hgu:
