Can please someone tell me if I can sit for CCRN certification exam? I have worked in LTAC unit almost 2 yrs, and have taken care of high acuity patiens. But never worked in ICU or stepdown units. I would love to get some clarification on this. Thank you!

How'd you get your job?
I graduated in July and passed NCLEX in Aug. I looked - applied - looked- applied. Nothing was working for the first month and the second... Getting really upset and felt useless. I got my 2 yr of Nursing education for nothing!! Then, I thought "I should do something while I am waiting for calls/looking more for more jobs." So I did online ACLS course and got certified. -- something to add to my resume Since I knew nobody, I mean nobody to help me to open the door, I wanted my resume to stand out! And I was going to get PALS next. But then a hospital where I thought would never call did call me in for an interview and I got the job yesterday!!! I was getting ready to look in another state but I landed on my first job at a hospital only 20 min away from my home I am so happy! The key is really the persistance. Keep looking and keep applying! Anything you see requires no exp, that's a sign that they are welcoming the applications from new grads. So go for it! See how it flies! Good luck to everybody. Just don't give up!!

Advice on job interview, please!!
Thank you soooooo much for your warm advice, NY Lady! I almost gave up on any response after two days of no response. Then, there you were with the good advises and all. I was so grateful. So I went in the interview on Monday morning having your advise in mind. When the nursing manager asked me where would I be in 5 years from now question, I said "Here ." She told me that she still had a few more people to interview as I was leaving. So I just like (oh.. now the agony waiting starts). But then the very next day- yesterday, the HR called and told me that I got the job!!!!!! Yaaaayyyy!!! I got the job! I got the job!! So Thank youuuuuuu to NY Lady! I wish I could give you a big bear hug! Thank you for your kind guidance! I really appreciated! And to those of you, the new graduates who are still out there looking for their first jobs, don't give up! You will find something! I didn't have anybody, any leads to help me out my job hunting but I got one! So keep your chin up! Keep smiling! It will be your turn next!! Good luck to you all :yeah:

Advice on job interview, please!!
After months of job searching I finally got a call from a hospital, which specialized in LTAC and trauma care, for an interview. I am so excited and pumped, but in mean time very nervous and anxious. I did an interview for an internship program when I was still student about 6 months ago, and it didn't go very well and I didn't get it. I think at that time I didn't have enough confident in myself and was too nervous to face the interviewers. And sure enough after the interview, they told me that the reason why I didn't get was that I seemed to be too timid. After my graduation I passed NCLEX at my first attempt and got ACLS certified. I am getting more confident to be in this profession now. But just because of the first interview experience I am so nervous about this coming interview next week. The HR person told me that I will have 3 steps of interviews: HR interview, peer interview, and manager interview. 3 different interviews!!?? Can anyone give me some advice/ insight about the questions what they may ask on the table? What is peer interview? What kind of questions will I be thrown at? I really really need this job. My entire household financial is on my shoulders. Please help....

NCLEX quick results
I understand your agony! I took mine on Fri. 7/30/10 in Ohio. Our state participate in "Quick Result" but it was weekend and B.O.N wouldn't update license numbers on their website until the next business date - the following Monday. But PVT's quick result became available for me 48 hrs after I took the test, which was late Sunday night and I got my result - PASSED:yeah: ... but I had to pay for the fee. (But I didn't care! I had to know!!!) Which state are you in? It all depends where you took... I guess. I pray for your good result! Hang in there!!!

NCLEX quick results
Help.. I am dying here. I took mine on Friday, July 30. Got a good pop-up right after the test. It is Sunday 12:30pm and my B.O.N hasn't shown my license number yet. Do I have to wait until tomorrow (Mon) to get my result? I just can't trust PVT trick. I felt horrible after the test. cried all the way home thinking I failed. It was really hard exam. Can someone tell me when I can expect my test result?

Question on IV electrolytes, please help!
Thank you for the story... as a first year nursing student I have not done any of IV administration yet. All these what I am learning right now, electrolytes and others, are really important to remember when I face the time. I will remember what you told me. I can make mistakes on the paper tests, but not with the real patient care! Thank you!!
