Just to put in my 2 cents... my wife was an LVN for 10 years and when we met, she went on to get her RN. During that time she had 1 male in her nursing program in 2003. When I graduated from the same program in 2008, we had 17 men and 24 women!!! Nursing is a profession of people who CARE for other people regardless of race, sexuall orientation, religeon or whatever. Sounds like you have some pretty inmature "friends". I was a cable tv lineman before pursuing a nursing career, and most of the guys encouraged me to go for it while you still had few who were stupid. I loved my old job, but I really love being a Nurse!

Good luck to you. I passed on my third attempt, so never give up. The first time, I used strictly Kaplan questions, the computer shut off at 75. The second time, I used NCSBN Learning Extention, the computer turned off at 265. This last time I used Saunders and Hesi together and I really paid attention to the rationales and if still didn't understand, I looked at different sources like wiki. The computer shut off at 85 with a pass. My license just got here today. Also, I put in a good 4-5 hours a day for study time, sounds like a lot but it goes by fast with reading and answering questions. Also, I have read a lot about the success of "suzzanne's plan" posted on this site. try that, I was goin to if I hadn't passed this last time.

you should've definately have gotten something from your state board. when i didn't pass the first time, i got my results within 3 weeks.

i took mine on dec 31st and got my results on the morning of jan 5th. but that was my case, does't mean anything about yours. keep your head up.

I've been living in L.A. all my life, Down Town is too expensive for small places. you would do good looking for a nice place in the Mid-City area and you can get to Down Town really fast usin Venice Blvd or Pico Blvd.

The first time I took it, the computer turned off at 75(failed). Second time, all 265(failed). Third time, 85(passed). you just never know! Good luck.

Fail, fail, pass!!! The third times a charm in my case! Just got my results about 5 minutes ago. It's 4:30am and i'm wide awake, i woke my wife up and neither us can go to sleep. So glad it's it's over and so glad it's beggining!!!

I PASSED I PASSED I PASSED!!! I NEVER WENT TO BED LASTNIGHT AND IT'S NOW 4:30AM IN CALI, I JUST GOT MY RESULTS ONLINE. I SCARED MY POOR WIFE WHEN I WOKE HER UP. NOW WE'RE BOTH RN's! THANKS FOR ALL THE PRAYERS AND SUPPORT FROM YOU GYS OUT THERE.

God! I'm sitting here so misserable! I took mine n the 31st in Cali and still no info on the DCA website. I guess if I passed then it would've been there today. I hate this waitng, seems like everthing is just blah! It turned off at 85 and I know I got #85 correct. I had 1 math and 2 SATA and a bunch of infection control. Well congrats on your passing! I pray I will get the same satisfaction.

I took my nclex on the 31st and I have been STRESSING ever since. Than I read your story, and all I can say is GOOD JOB. What you have accomplished is just amazing. This was my 3rd ime taking the test and even f I didn't pass again, I will just think about you and what you've accomplished, and I will just gear up and go again. Thank you.

I have a question for anyone who might know... I took boards on the 31st of December in Cali, is there a delay in receiving the results on DCA website because of the holiday, or if you passed should the results be up already? I'm in panic mode here!!! I thought that if in fact I did pass, I would see it posted by today. Second, I was told by several people that if the computer turns off after you answered a question "correctly", thenyou most likely passed? Has anyone else been told or experienced that myth? The computer turned off after I answered #85 and I know for a fact I answered it right! I guess I'm just looking for some encouragement. I know if I don't see my name posted by Monday...well, you know.

i failed my first two attempts and i took it again yesterday morning. if it were easy, everbody would be doing it. keep your head up and go again! nursing school was the hardest thing i've done in my life, no way i'm giving up at the end, you shouldn't either.

Good job!!! I took mine today and the computer also turned off at 85. I hope that my outcome will be as good as yours. These next few days are going to be ruff!!!
