  1. Thanks for your help. I went to West Coast and applied to the bsn. I wasready to start in Feb. Two weeks before the start date I canceled. Nothing against West Coast or their reps.......I'm just scared of the high tuition! I'm 51 and I can't see paying off student loans for the rest of my life! Thanks so much for your help and good luck in your studies.
  2. Thanks I went to the session yesterday. I am going to go ahead and start the process. I'm going to test on feb 24. With so many people applying it will be interesting to see if I get in.....Info sessions are twice a week Tue 4:00 and Thurs 1:00. The month of Feb only. Its about 45000 and 24 months(for people with no prereqs or lvn) They only take forty twice a year. Thanks for all your help Nickilaughs. Did your husband sign up? Do you live nearby the school? My only downfall is that I live so far. I left my house yesterday at 2:15 to get there by 4:00. I arrived at 4:04. arghh! Mapquest said it would take 1hr.5min. I'll just have to adjust to all of that driving.
  3. hi there, still looking for students currently attending everest college rn program. i would love a chance to pick your brain. thanks so much for your help.
  4. Hi there, Thanks for the reply. Yes i know about West Coast. I was ready to go Feb 2, but backed out a few weeks before. I couldn't see paying that much back. I'm too old, I don't want to pay student loans the rest of my life. I'm going to the info session tomorrow. It's only 24 months and (hopefully) around 42,000.( I thought that was something I read.) I know they only take new students for the nursing program twice a year. Next class starts in July. Hopefully I can get in touch with someone currently in the program......If you are out there please contact me. I'd love to hear your opinions about Everest....... Thanks so much.
  5. Thanks....I don't realy understand why you sent my the link without any message. I did look on the bon previously and I think nickilaughs is talking about Everest in Ontario. Its been posted in other threads. Just wondering if there something new.....
  6. Hi. I'm looking at Everest. Before I drive out to Ontario for their mandantory info meeting, I was wondering if anyone here is attending the RN program. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Hi Vinnie01, Did you ever start the Everest program? I know this is an old thread, but I was interested in knowing if they ever got regionally accredited and how its going for you. Thanks for your help.
  8. Hi Nickilaughs, Would you tell me the name of the nursing school you mention here. So far I haven't come across a RN program so cheap. Thanks in advance.
  9. I wonder how long it would take for them to be accredited by the CCNE. I'm also wondering if there is somewhere to verify that they are actually applicants. Hmmm
  10. oops:doh:anyways ......after much thought, I decided I would rather not go into such deep debt at my age (51) aaannnddd THEY are not accredited:banghead: That WAS the deal breaker. I have decided to go out of state to get into a program.
  11. Hi. I enrolled and was approved for financial aid and private loans(with a co signer), I was set to go in Febuary
  12. Sounds great! good luck.
  13. I see..... I had better make an appointment with financial for more info. Maybe for you it would be worthwhile to look into American University of Health Science or Western University of Health Science. Good Luck
  14. Any idea what the monthly payments would be? Also I just heard about American University of Health Sciences in Long Beach. It has a BSN program.........need prereqs. I don't know anything else.
  15. as27, Have you talked to financial? Just wondering if you are able to get loans for the total amount. If you did, any idea what the monthly payments would be?
  16. Hi, I went to WCU last week also. I took all the tests and passed. I'm worried about financing. I have been looking for scholarships and employer programs that pay part of the student loans. please keep us updated on financing etc. :twocents: Thanks:up:
  17. Thanks so much about the info on Everest. Although I live in Redondo Beach, Ontario might work! Whew! I will give them a call and check mapquest for mileage etc.... I was shivering just thinking about South Dakota winters. BRRRR!! Thanks again:yeah:
  18. It sounds like this program is way out of my reach financially. It is very frustrating looking at all of these options. I could go to a private university in another state. It is a two year program including prereqs and generals. And the cost is about 37,000. (for residents). I thought THAT was too much. OMG All I have to do is take the ACT test. Its nationwide test I already signed up for the next test on Sept 13. We'll see what happens. I called WCU and they haven't called back yet. Still haven't heard from Lynwood. But I don't think going the lvn-rn route is good for me cause I'd like to be able to travel. So many decisions..........
  19. hi everyone! i am also a 'mature' student looking for direct track to rn. i've been waiting all summer to find out if i am accepted in the lvn program at lynwood adult school. now after reading these posts, i am wondering about the bsn at wcu. if anyone has info it would be greatly appreciated.
