  1. Is there anywhere in the US that has a decent job market for new grad nurses or is it just the same broken economy story everywhere?? I am willing to go anywhere I have to so I can get some experience. Thanks for any help
  2. So you put your life before theirs????? What a noble nurse........I commend you. Yikes! Curious if one day your philosophy will ever cost you yours. SABC sounds about right to me.
  3. Yipee! Ha! Yeah I kinda figured that's the replies I would get. I called one school in costa mesa about 2 months ago and they said they think they are going to start one in like a year so. Im supposed to call back in like another month to see their progress. Maybe I'll wait for that or just bite the bullet and relocate. This totally sucks. Thanks to all.
  4. Hi, I am about to complete my LVN program in 1 month and would like to get into a private college bridge program. I am curious as to if any of the schools you are attending are planning on starting one sometime soon or at all. Thanks for your help. Oh yeah im in Southern california.
  5. I have been bouncing back and forth deciding about which routes to take to pursue my nursing career. I have decided to go the LVN route. I was planning on going to American Career College but have read some not so good things about it. I am not interested in the CC route because I dont have the time. So what private or for-profit school ( whatever you want to call it) do you recommend? Any recent experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated. I am in the O.C. area.
  6. I just typed like a page prior to this and it got deleted so im going to keep it simple! LVN-$30,000 LVN to RN $ 60,000 Total 90,000 Time approx. 3 yrs. Degree - Associates Bachelors- $110,000 Time- 3yrs. 3 months Almost the same time and money for a degree above. The way I look at it is it takes money to make money! There is no way due to an added "monthly payment" that me and my son wont be in a better position down the road!! :wink2:
  7. I talked to them and they couldn't give me a definitive answer on what the schedule was. They said it's 2-4 days a week and either 4-8 hours. The cost is $110,000. I forgot to get the start date (moron)!! There is the usual tests to take to enter the program also.
  8. Thanks to all! Im just going to leave the past behind me and proceed forward.
  9. I talked to them today and they said they will have the info. on the 30th of this month. i'll let ya know!
  10. Will do! They are supposed to call me tom.
  11. Did any of you start your nursing career from ground zero at the age of 26 or around that age? If so, what were your feelings entering a new field late and are you happy that you did it. Sorry if im being vague but im about to start the path to an RN so I'll be like 29-30 starting a new career. I know there has been people starting older than that but I still feel really late. Thanks for your responses
  12. HOLY $@!!! Thats how much the bridge costs. This is going to be insanely expensive. Before I saw this I was planning on doing the LVN program and than pretty much go straight into the bridge. I mean thats going to take me 2 1/2 yrs. min. total just for the ADN. I guess i'll have to wait till they call me back with the schedule and the price. I mean it's only money!!! LOL!!
  13. Sorry it's West Coast University. I called there today and the only info. they had was that a program is starting in Nov.
  14. Anybody have any info on the new program at WCU? It's a straight BSN program with no LVN or pre reqs needed.
  15. Thanks to all
