I think any of the topics are good but I think that the topic Genetic Disorders e.g. down syndrome, trisomy 13, 18, cystic fibrosis, prader willi syndrome ect would be good, you could bring in pictures and assessment skills as well looking at how diff cultures handle and care for situations. That should keep people awake.

So here is my issue... I currently working on a postpartum/newborn nsy unit. I have worked on my current unit for over a year. I would like to go back to grad school for NPWH and CNM or NP for ER soon. I have been thinking about if I was to stay at my current job what would I gain that would help me in grad school, yes working with postpartum pts would help ect. However I have been thinking about the ED. I have been thinking about all the exp I would gain from the ED that would make me an over all better clinical nurse as well as a better NP. A few things are causing me some concern... I am afraid I wont know everything to make it in the ED and the pace, the orientation process is 6 months. Also I currently love what I do now in postpartum but can see my self loving the ED, its just so hard to leave a place you like for the unknown. Have any advice?

Momof3, Hey!! I jut wanted to touch base with you to see how your doing! Have you taken the NCLEX yet? I know you were going to reschedule. How did has the studing going now that kiddos are back in school? things for me have been REALLLY busy! Im working on a l&d/ postpartum unit. im off orientation now and its crazy.. we get anywhere between 19-29 deliverys a day...I do enjoy it but im working alot of overtime to fill in gaps ya know. What time of nursing do you want to do? well i hope to hear from you soon!!!! praying for ya!

Hey mom of 3! I have been thinking about you and your studing! I have been wanting to find some time to get on here but I am working a hell of alot of hours and cant seem to find time to wipe my butt. So hows ur studing going? You feeling better about this time around? Hows ur family helping you out? Im sure your kids are in school now so that must help. Hope to talk with you soon!

Thanks, I will be working in PA so I am waiting for the PA BON. I also told work who knows about my GN and my status on pearson vue. I had to bring a print out until the BON can give me a number. I just want to make sure because I dont want to have any troubles down the road ya know...

Hey I am just wondering how long I should wait till my RN status is online at the BON to call. Currently it still has my GN down as active but my pearsons status says pass. Im starting to worry what if there is a mistake? Thanks

Thank you everyone! I could not have made it with out each of you on all nurses!!! Hannahmitz- Thanks, I took my exam in PA. I used kaplan for review and I would also say know your lab values, meds, and infectious control. I waited 48 hours. good luck and let m know how you do!

I know it sucks!!! When I took my NCLEX I had about 10-15 med questions.. Its also my weak area... Just keep your head up! I passed with all mine I will pray for you

Hey sorry to head you failed the first time! I used Kaplan and while I dont use how they say to pick the answers( didnt work well for me but others love it) their questions were very much like the NCLEX. I also used saunders and I have to say I hated it!!! I felt like it was nothing like what the NCLEX was (imo)Do as many questions as you can and study your weak areas and keep your head up!

I am sorry to hear you failed...What have you used in the past? I just passed and I use Kaplan (while I did not use how their techs. I used their questions I found it to be alot like the NCLEX) I also used saunders. Our school made us do 200 question on every topic and had to get an 85 on it. I also read the fact throwing post. Good luck

I wish I was stronger during the waiting period because I did everything I read not too, I looked up questions all of which I remembered I got wrong, and I searched for anyone with my number passing and failing. Hey everyone!!! I just got up checked my result and I passed my NCLEX RN!! I had 113 questions and thought for sure I failed but god is good!!!!:)

Hey I am not sure if anyone is still reading this but it helps with my nerves to write on here...:) So dont mind me:) So today I tried to go out and do some things... I still have big nerves and I find my self breaking down and crying at times.. I just keep thinking I am on the downhill of the wait!

OMG I so know how you feel! When will you find out? I took mine in PA. I am suppose to find out tomorrow am but I keep looking at the website to see if it by chance is up.. What type of questions did you get?

Can I say I keep thinking the same thing its all I passed at 75... I took mine yesterday and it shut off at 113. I cant wait till tomorrow am just to get this wait over ya know. What state did you take it in?

Hey everyone! Thank you guys for your kind words. I am in really need of them at this point. Everyone is telling me I passed blah blah so hard to agree. Tonight my boyfriend came over and we had a nice dinner now we are watching the Olympics... Tomorrow I have no idea what im going to do to keep myself busy..
