leukemia - the main affected are: blood, bone marrow, spleen, & lymph. the biggest problem of leukemia is the big "ant" anemia, neutrepenia, and thrombocytopenia. all- problem of b & t-lymphocyte (more in children) aml- problem of macrophage, granulocytes, rbc, & platelets (more in children) cml & cll - more in elderly note: there's 2 types- acute and chronic and 2 category- myeloid (myelocitic) & lymphoid (lymphocytic)

i just want to thank all of you for letting me read all the facts that were thrown here. i found out my result this morning and i passed..thanks to our lord. to those who are taking the test, goodluck and be confident u guys can do it. again, thank you...i will still post facts here if u guys don't mind =)

i found this thread 2 days b4...i started reading and i got addicted to it..lol...here's some stuff to remember: gtpal gravida- total number of pregnancies (aborted or alive) term- fullterm, pregnancies that reached 38weeks gest. para(preterm)- number of pregnancies that actaully reached 20-37th wks gest. aborted- number of pregnancies that didn't reached 20weeks gest...this could be either by option or by missed living - number of babies actually survive after all tha gravida ..(note that gravida could be a larger number than living children

whoaaaa! I feel u...I had my exam last Monday...I got 7 SATA...and most of those SATA were meds...1 drug calc...and priorities...my test was probably 50% meds:cry: ...and it stopped at 75...I'm still waiting on my result...i'm kinda nervous:confused:

I want to add this up to Melinurse's Blood transfusion..her version is really good, i just want to add some input =) * Hemolytic rxn (most dangerous) --> pain in lower back, N/V, hematuria --> D/C transfusion, open up the NS *Febrile rxn --> HA, fever, chills, nausea --> D/C transfusion, may give ASA *Allergic rxn --> urticaria, pruritis, fever --> D/c, give Benadryl, O2 *Fluid Overload --> D/c, HOB up, O2 ****for the most part of blood transfusion rxn, always open up the NS =)

just like you guys, I just took my test and I somewhat don't know how to feel. They said that if it stop at 75 the good chances are there. But, in my case, I got about 7 SATA... so much meds that I haven't heard of. My test stopped at 75 but I'm pretty sure my I got the last question wrong. Now, the question is what are the chances of passing if ur last question is wrong? I guess, i just have to take it easy today and start studying again real soon =( Please, if anyone have an input on how's the chances are, i would appreciate it..thanks! and goodluck to us.

-kawasaki disease is seen more in asian kids under 5 yo..most s/sx are red eyes, soles and palms purple-red, fever, red, dry and cracked lips, may see rash all over the body. If left untreated, it will affect the heart. early treatment should be no more than 10 days of the s/sx appear. Md will tx it w/ gamma globulin. -Fifth disease is a skin rash caused by a virus...rash on face, arms, legs...s/sx fever, joint pain, anemia:) Goodluck to everyone!

to Joaniedee...yeah, i got that too...but according to kaplan, NCLEX follows the book and not the "real work place" ...what we have been thought at school (from Medsurg book: Ignatavicius) you slide the new one first then remove the old ties...I hope this helps =)

I am on the same boat..I am taking mine this Monday...and it feels like i am having a panic attack...anyways, i also felt like i didn't retained any of the things I studied...so, i am thumbing through my notes from kaplan...just a quick look and the more I read on my old notes, i start to remember things =) Anxiety meds won't help before the test. it will calm you but remember that they have a sedating effect...you might not be able to think clearly...try to do a deep breathing exercise just before the test...or, run (excercise the day before the test..not too much though so won't get tired the following day) and most of all...Let's all pray..it helps..goodluck!

Congratulations for those who already passed the NCLEX . I am taking mine in 2 days...I have to tell you that at this point, I am really nervous. I did good at my Qbanks and my Qtrainers are ok. I told myb self I'm reaDY but as I opened some NCLEX book, it feels like I didn't learned any and that I needed to study more. I got 2 days left and I needed advice:(
