  1. i think you are the only RN who knows the right thing the rest are crabs who just want the money of our poor people who tried their best to send their children to a nursing school without knowing that they are just giving their hard earn money to the pocket of this nursing school owner, they know the real situation but they dont want to tell this to the student, i just hope this RN instructor in LPN school will open their mind and tell the truth to their student. this is like a "legal robbery" and i hope our government will act on this matter. And I don't understand this people in TESDA why they keep giving a lic to this school offering an LPN and RN (not BSN) to operate, when they know that there is no job for this courses, some say when they finish this course they can apply as caregiver,..then why not offer a caregiver courses only instead of LPN an RN (ADN as what they call it) if after graduation they will just work as a caregiver.
  2. thanks to your reply smart1996 and noryn.
  3. What is international graduate? is there an international school now in the Philippines offering a BSN. If that is an international school, then why they required a local license, I dont get it. Well as far as I know if you are a BSN graduate in the Philippines and no local license, and you mention that you are a green card holder, I believe you can take the NCLEX-RN, but can not apply an interim permit (IP) to at least work for 6 months, I learned this from my friend, who were not able to apply for an IP, am not sure if this is a new rule or what because 7 years ago my wife apply an IP and she was able to get it and worked for 6 months while doing her NCLEX-RN review. hope this info will help you.
  4. you are a BSN graduate but underboard, so why not take the NCLEX-RN, why you want to take the NCLEX-PN when you are qualified to take the NCLEX-RN and besides even if you will pass the nclex-pn you will not be able to get a visa to work in US, only the NCLX-RN passer can get a visa and not the pn passer. just browse this site and you will get a lot of information. thank you very much!!
  5. ask some advice from the people close to you. sometimes we want to quit and after few days we regret our decision. thanks for sharing your problem and thank you to all who give their opinion
  6. thats right! always multiply that amount of ml to the gtt and then divide in minutes; so if the given is in hour multiply it in 60 to make it min not confusing huhh. very simple. thanks for everybody who share their knowledge..
  7. my answer is also 10 days here's how: 1 oz = 30 ml therefore 16 oz (30ml) is 480 ml the child needs 12ml 4 times a day which means 48 ml/day so: 480 ml ______ = 10 days 48 ml /day hope this help and i love this site..
  8. im just an lvn and here's my simple solution 3000 ml (10gtt/ml) ________________ = 20.83 r/o to 21 24 hr ( 60 min) where did we get the 60 min, its not even given in the problem. well its because 1 hour is = 60 min and you need to convert 24 hours to minutes which will give you 1440 minutes, because if you will not convert it into minutes and you will just divide it with 24 hours you will get this answer (1,250) which is wrong.
  9. i think all of us encountered the same problem, i also give a meds to wrong patient and it was so scary and i was sleepless for a few days. but it always a lesson.
  10. i encountered this same question during my cna exam in in american redcross. the best answer here for me is also "B" as long as he can do it let him do it.
  11. i have one question to anybody who would like to answer. because all nurses are doing this almost every duty, and nobody give me a good answer even my clinical instructor. everybody knows that if we give injection we need to aspirate before we inject it to the patient, my question is: WHAT IF DURING ASPIRATION, I ASPIRATE A BLOOD AND NOW IT MIX TO THE MEDICATION INSIDE THE SYRINGE, WHAT WILL I DO NOW, DO I NEED TO DISCARD THAT MEDS AND GET ANOTHER ONE? OR JUST LOOK FOR ANOTHER SITE AND ASPIRATE AGAIN. please give me a correct answer for this question.
  12. and those green card and US citizen who are planning to take nursing in Philippines be careful because there's a lot of illegal school offering a ladderized PN to RN program (not BSN) and they claim that you can challenge the RN Nclex once you've finish the program and they will even show you their tesda certificate. its better to enroll in school offering a BSN. don't go for a short cut nursing. and some said they have online PN and RN program, please don't waste you hard earn money to this crab school.
