  1. The salary depend of your experience and certifications> some places pay 23/h, some others 26. On home Health it's not by hour but by visit. Usually it's $25. The more patients you have, more money you make.
  2. Yes, it depend of the qualifications you have as a nurse: BSN, PHD, etc. Not every nurse can earn the same amount. Sorry.
  3. Florida, so far itks the worst state to work/live. The BON does a horrible job, the pay suck, the prices of everything its so high that not even with 27/h you could live as you deserve for the kind of job a nurse does. The only thing I'm missing from there its the beaches and I can always go back for vacations. Welcome to New Mexico! Don't miss the mountains in Santa Fe! They have snow already!!!
  4. Not a problem, come and get me! Hahahha!. I did went to ballon fiesta but the flight was cancelled because of the weather. So sad...
  5. Well... I moved to Santa Fe (north of NM) and guess what... I LOVE IT!!! Even without Bustelo or La llave (I don't like Pilon). The weather it's lovely, dry and cool(50 f today). Just 2 days ago there fall 2 feet of snow in the mountains. Today I went up to the top just to grab some in my hands. I just bought a Nikkon camera and I get the best pictures ever!!! Coming down the mountains I found Deers (I remmenber Alvarez guedez and his monologue). If you send me your email, I will send some pics. Next weekend it's the Ballons festival... They said it's amaizing. I want to go. The hospital it's small but, so far I like it. Frendly people everywhere, polite, smiling.... So far there's 6 cuban nurses in Albuquerque that contacted me. We keep in touch. What do you know... I don't know anybody here and I falled in love with this place.

  7. Ok. My state it's New Mexico. How can I find out?
  8. Question: As a Per diem you can work as much or as less as you need but, isn't there a minimum of hours you have to work per year in order to keep the license?
  9. I don't know ABQ. I'm starting as Per Diem in Santa Fe (St. Vincent Hosp), $30/h no benefits. Lovelace didn't offer anything good. Presbytherian wanted me to sign as full time and UNM never answered my application.
  10. Hi: I'm an RN and I'm applying for Per diem positions. I've been told that as a Per Diem I have to work some shifts in certain time so I can keep my position with the hospital. Do you know how this works? How many shifts in what period? Does it varies? Thanks
  11. Hahahaha:chuckle. Think again. There's a bunch of us everywhere. You may not notice us but, we are here (like aliens in MIB).
  12. I studied in Cuba. I came 4 years ago. Hey Ximena, how about you? Where did you studied?
  13. Ok. I'm glad you passed: one more:yeah:. Did you studied in a Polytechnical institute in Cuba? Or ISCM? How was the process in New Jersey Board to get the authorization for the NCLEX? Did they gave you hart time? Are they requesting the evaluation of credentials? Or just the original title and the grades?
  14. GOOD!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! are you going to work in New Mex? Where? I'm planning to move to NM in September. I think it would be a little lonely there for me without all the "cubaneo" around, jajajaja. Do you know if there's more cubans there?
  15. Hi: I'm a cuban nurse. I passed the NCLEX in Nov 2007. Are you in New Mex?
  16. Hi: I'm a Cuban Nurse moving to NM. A complete new place to me. A lot of people said that I will love it since I like skiing and adventure. Anyway I'm alittle bit nevous about my move. Is there any cuban nurse working/living in NM?

  18. Did you finally get the information about traveling nurse? I'm trying to get all the info possible. Thanks
  19. If anyone knows how this "traveling nurse" works. What are the requierements, etc... please answer this topic. I'm very interested too.

Hi. I'm curious about the traveling nuses. What is this about? The New grads can do it? What are tha benefits? Does anyone knows? Thanks
  21. Thanks Silverdragon102. You may send me PM whenever you want. I feel bad vibe to hispanics from this other people. I understand they feel threat by more qualified professionals. Bye.
  22. Correction: I'm not going to another country. I'm not going to New Zealand or any other place like that. I think you should read better. I'm a nurse who has a lisence from one of the USA's state. Who passed the NCLEX and is just trying to move to a different state INTO the USA. I'm sorry guys. I'm the kind of person that try to build doors, no walls. Obviously there's too many people with no useful information and trying to get attention (at least from a forum) what a shame!
  23. My country has the highest name in nursing and health sciences. The nursing school of Cuba are acredited in United States. In my case I'm not only graduated as the best of my Institute as a nurse, I was accepted in the Higher Instutute of medical school. I have a doctorate degree in Medicine too. Just to inform you.
  24. Look. I know it sounds weird but it's happening. Are you still there?
