new traveller, help!
hey neuroRN, thanks for the quick reply! so far have touched base with access, American mobile, and cross country. they've all mentioned positions here and there in cali, but no solid offers yet, and the pay seems a bit low, 25-27/hr. getting a bit frustrated because i've been keeping my fingers crossed for over a month now and still nothing...will just keep hoping i guess...

new traveller, help!
hi! i am actually dying to get out to california, ideally southern cali, san diego area or just outside. anyone know of companies in particular that are offering positions out there? thanks!

kaiser anyone?
hi pamela, thanks! only thing that seemed a bit strange with kaiser san diego, is that i couldn't quite seem to find one website specifically for the hospital there, kaiser permanente...also, the pay seemed a bit on the low end, 27/hr...didn't know if that's just san diego rates or what... any other info you've got on companies, nice areas in cali to work would be great! thanks so much!

1st time Med-surg traveler looking into San Francisco - tips?
you guys really sound like you know what you're talking about...i am going to be a first time travel RN, just accepted a position in san diego today, was hoping you might be a bit familiar with this area as well, as far as pay rates go. i will be confirming everything with my recruiter tomorrow and am really lost/nervous as far as what i should negotiate for... i was told it will be 27/hr which includes housing, benefits and reimbursement to fly out there. don't want to be taken advantage of, but also don't want to overask for anything, seeing as i am a newbie at all this and not sure what is reasonable to ask for. what do you think?

hey, just accepted a position with this company, was thinking the pay rate sounds a bit low for a travel RN, but i am a first timer as well, so don't really know any better..also, going to san diego and heard this city is low paying in general, however doesn't seem to make much sense seeing as living expenses seem so high... does anyone know if it is possible to bargain for a better pay rate with this company, or is it set in stone??

kaiser anyone?
hello! just accepted a position in san diego, california with kaiser healthcare. i am from the east coast, so not at all familiar with the kaiser facilities or hospitals, tried looking them up online but couldn't find a direct website to the san diego facility. was wondering if anyone is familiar with the kaiser permante hospital in san diego (i think that's what it's called). i will be working a med surg tele floor, hoping to get a few opinions/comments about the hospital before i head out there. also, wondering if anyone happens to have a rough pay rate/hr for travel RN's in san diego, i know the cost of living is a bit up there. thanks, will appreciate any info! :)

new traveller, help!
I'm a first time traveller as well and I have to say, it's a bit overwhelming! I feel bad talking with a few different companies at once, but it just feels like they're trying to fit me where THEY need me. they ask me what i want and then come up with the exact opposite and try and convince that's what's best...is this normal? also, is it ok to submit apps to a few different companies and then just go with whoever places me where I want to be? I feel a bit bad having them do all the work and then having to wind up saying sorry to the ones missing out, but i don't know if that's just how it all works. how long should i hold out for my ideal position before just going with second or third best offer?? would appreciate any input! thanks :)
