  1. Thanks... Found out on Friday I passed my boards!!!!!!! I am now a CRNA!!!!!
  2. Hello All, I was curious if anyone has taken boards, took the min. and still failed? I took boards yesterday.. It was hard... several I knew, several I didn't.. But I did take the minimum. Later, Demoking
  3. Hello all, I am graduating in a month and have been hitting the "Sweat Book" and Memory Master hard and heavy. What else is everyone reading to prepare for the boards? I want to make sure that I will be as ready as possible when I take the "Big Test" in a few months. Thanks
  4. Congrats Jennie, When will you start? I begin at ASU Jan 2005... . Nervous and excited... So much to learn. I have heard nothing but good things about the program and the faculty. The director has a long history of CRNA education and keeps in contact with many of her former students. The program is still farirly new but I have many friends in their first class as well as their second.....Everyone I have spoken with loves it! Once again, congrats... Demo
  5. Hello All, I will be starting my CRNA program in the near future (Jan. 2005). I have several friends that are already in and they seem to be "stressing" over their management plans. Does anyone have any good resources for these? Thanks

  7. has anyone had any experience with any of the sony recorders or pda's? I already have multiple Sony items that use their memory sticks and would love to find a good recorder or PDA that will use them as well (that way I can just carry the sticks and upload them at the end of the day). Demo
  8. Hey everyone... I have a Sony Vaio.. its a bit heavy but has worked great!!
  9. ******************************************************* I am in Little Rock. Looking forward to getting back to Jonesboro. Demo
  10. Hello All, I have been accepted to ASU!!! Woohoo!! Anyway, they start every January so I have a little time to really plan my finances. ASU is in my state an a few hours from home. I am married and unable to uproot my family for school so I will have to get an apartment and still keep paying the regular household bills. My question is what avenues are there for loans? Low interest and etc... I believe there are loans that cover some of the tuition (federal I believe) for around 18,500. This will cover tuition and books but will not make a dent in living expenses. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Demo
  11. I was wondering if there are any others that are going to interview this weekend at ASU? later, Demoking
  12. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am coming from Little Rock. I have a 9am time. I am coming in the night before. I actually went there for part of my undergrad work.... Is the 501 still there? Later....
  13. Congrats and I hope I will be able to say the same at the end of the month!!!!!!!
  14. Congrats on the interview. I am also interviewing on the 27th. I am a bit paranoid. I have some friendds that are currently in ASU's first class and also some in the second. I have heard that the interviews will be changed thisyear and there will be a panel of interviewers. I have also heard that there is a test prior to going in. I have another friend currently in ghte Wesleyan program and loves it. he will be coming back to Little Rock for his clinicals. I also have another co-worker that has already interviewed and been accepted to TWU for August. Where are you coming from for the interview? What time slot did you get? I'll be there early on Saturday. later and good luck *********************************************** *
  15. ******************************************************** Dartain, Since I did not have my BSN yet but met all of the other requirements I will go through the regular interview process. The process so far was to have everything in by Feb. 15th (paperwork and etc.) to both the Nursing School and the Graduate School. If anything was left out they should have sent you a letter. I received one because there was originally a hold up from the graduate school. I contacted the Nursing school and they worked on it from their end as well... my packet is completes now. From what I understand the next step for them is to review all of the packets and make their lists of qualified applicants and then send them a notice. Then from there they contact each applicant and a interview date is set up. I have some friends that also have applied and they are in limbo as well. I have not received anything with a date on it but am going off of what I have been told. I was told at my meeting that I would have an interview and not to worry. I contacted them one other time to confirm because some of the info on the website states that they will do interviews in April not March.... They said they would see me in March. I hope that this helps. This is a fairly new program but I have only heard good things about it. If they see that you are falling behind in an area they work extra with you to ensure that you are going to get the priciples of it. They won't let you "slide" a bit though. I was originally going to apply to TWU. Excellent program.... Have severla friends goingt there now. But my wife and I have a new baby on the way and its due at the end of July.... So I wouldn't have had any time with them before starting the TWU program (if accepted). I also had heard that TWU accepts extra people that they don't have clinical space for because they know they will either weed out or student will drop. I understand this prcatice from their point. You must be dedicated and ready. But ASU tries to ensure that all of that is addressed prior to acceptance. So for me ASU was the best choice. I have been told by some of the current ASU students that they have had so many applicants for the Jan 2005 class that there will not be any late applicants accepted. I believe that last year they did accept a few late. Hope some of this helps, Demoking
  16. Info on ASU program.... They are changing the website and left it off for some strange reason. I spoke to Shelly (I think she is the secretary there) anyway, it actually is a requirement not by the CRNA program but for any masters in nursing offered at ASU which of course includes the CRNA program. One other thing I forgot to ask was the deletion of the Memphis clinical site. Hope this clears some things...... Demoking
  17. Hello all, I have an interview in March at ASU (Arkansas State)... Woohoo I actually have already had a meeting with the director this past November. During the interview she stopped me and then went and got the A&P professor and had him sit in the meeting. It went very well. I am currently an ICU nurse at the largest hospital in the state (a teaching hospital at that) and finishing my BSN this Spring. I should have started sooner in obtaining my BSN... (kicking myself) *During the interview the director had to step out and speak with a student and left me witht the A&P professor, he said that if I would have had my BSn they would have taken me then..... I was glad to hear that but it made me realize I should have started on my BSN years ago... Anyway now I am in with the regular admission group i.e. formal interview and etc. I am a bit nervous wondering how much more they can ask me. We went over various items such as SWAN values, vent modes, etc. and also personal items such as family.... ASU begins every January so I missed the deadline for this year but am on track for Jan 2005. Now to my question, has anyone had any experience at ASU? The director and the professor put me at ease and I have only heard good things from the students. Thanks,
