  1. I went to Columbia, and it doesn't have an undergraduate school of nursing. Their program is call the ETP (entry to practice program) and then the MSN to become an NP. In order to be admitted you need to have a previous BS or BA, prereq. of course and need to take the GRE.
  2. Hi everyone, does anybody know what is the starting salary for an RN at Montefiore Medical center in the Bronx? Is it a good place to work? Thanks a lot
  3. :banghead:Hi guys, I just graduated with a BSN and passed the NCLEX-RN. I have been looking for a job in the NYC area because I live here and it has been imposible. So from my experience so far I can tell you NY is not a good place to find a job as a RN, they keep saying they don't have any positions for new nurses. It is very frustrating! I know how you all feel.
  4. Hi piel canela, have an account on monster.com and check every day. I have applied to all of the above hospitals and have not even gotten a phone call. I am beginning to wonder if there is really a nurses shortage in NYC. It is very frustrating to hit a wall everytime you apply for a position. The only thing they said by email was that they don't have any positions for new nurses.
  5. I did about 1500 questions or so, including the questions at the end of the chapters and the comprehensive test at the end of the book. One thing I can tell you most of the questions on the actual test were on priority and choose all that apply.
  6. I bought a tiny book that helped a lot. "Mosby's pharmacology memory note cards" it has cartoons and nemonics that help you remember drug names or at least drug categories.
  7. Hi I just passed the NCLEX-RN I didn't take any courses because I couldn't afford it. I only used the Saunders Comprehensive book and also the Saunders Q&A book. I highly recommend the comprehensive book, it may seem as too much information but if you know how to sort it out you will be ok. Good Luck.
  8. Good luck everyone! I know exactly how you feel. I took the NCLEX-RN on June 24 and I passed!!! I freaked out because the test stop at question 75 and I thought I had done something wrong. I recommend the Saunders Comprehensive Review book for studying it really help me a lot since I didn't take any prep courses. GOOD LUCK!
