  1. wow this is amazing Im not an experienced L and D nurse , been a nurse for 15 years and never heard that NA's can do this .... Can you work at a different facility , thats scary !!!!!!!! I do remember RN's doing it but wow scary !!!!>
  2. hi ! with all those classes out there its hard to decipher , me too.... Online we are always going to pay more but its the convenience of no clinicals and we can work on it anytime ... I am going with South university there is no one perfect university but its great to get everybodys output... Im scared to begin this venture, 2 kids at home still young and a cat and sports and jobs, let me know what you think:D
  3. I live right there, Kings bay is ok , not sure of the medical facilities I know they are hiring a PA right now at the non stressful clinic. its a great place to raise kids and the gym on base is very nice, hope this helps at all
  4. wow this has just totally scared me out of it :) not really but I do realize that having 3 kids (2 that are 6 and 7) who are my life and a grand daughter on the way in July makes me very nervous but I also have to plan for retirement and feel this is a good way to have some extra income. My husband is a retired Marine.... thanks for all the info ! this is great info

  6. :wink2:Hi ! congrats !! Im new and trying to get into the army nurse corps reserves... I LOVE CAMP PENDLETON!!!! 2 of my kids were born there and my husband retired there from the Marine Corps... I Love the area I was raised 8 minutes from there, certain areas in Oceanside I wouldnt live but overall its a great area near the ocean :) good luck !

  8. Fallbrook is a great place to live in :) I grew up there in Bonsall and went to fallbrook high. I used to work in the ER there and its a small little ER. THere are lots of things to do on the coast and San diego is very close. I hope I didnt respond too late I just found this question. Its also near the Marine corps base too. hope this helps ! and Im not too late.. Ranel
  9. yah its by kofa, its a nice path the uphill isnt too much fun I am in shape its just getting up early in the am on days off doesnt appeal to me :) you ran in Yuma?? did you live there? Im From North COunty San Diego and live here on a contract for a year...... r u active duty then? Im considering the reserves.... take care:yeah:

  11. olderthandrt, that is awesome that you are a flight nurse it was always something I considered, became an RN, Tncc.Pals etc then got over the adrenline rush. ANyway Im curious how its going in the reserves for you ... I met with my recruiter filled out paperwork and now working on the fitness level, can you provide any details? have you gone to obc yet? thanks ! I became a nurse as a single mom to provide for my son at the time.... (after work I sometimes feel like this ...
  12. lived in Ga for 3 years but now in AZ but considering a move back depending on things.. Im gung ho but nervous as well.... Milledgville, trying to place it , went through dawsonville anywhere close :) we lived in Kingsland ... ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS OR INPUTS ON OBC AS A RESERVE???   13. that is commendable for going to the gym at that late of the game I n eed to get out and run but in Yuma its 110 right now .. JD where are you in Ga we just moved from there. good luck to everyone on the running and the fitness !!!!
  14. Hi! just a quick note. I was an athlete my whole life, but never a good runner, did sprints in high school softball and college but not a true runner. At the age of 37 I had one year left of eligiblity and went back to play one more year of college ball!!! I found myself working out with 19 year olds and very intimidated.. Needless to say I told myself that I wanted to be a runner. I started doing the elliptical trainer 5 -6 days /week. I would run for 30 seconds and then build myself up. I have done the couch potato to 5 k thing and it wasnt for me ... My lungs were killing me at first and I told my husband he needed to call 911 but after awhile I was able to run 30 min at a time with no problem... You have to condition your lungs and it takes 72 hours to get out of shape, cardio wise. TRUST ME when I say this... good luck , hope this helps:heartbeat
