Thanks. I only did 1400-1500 practice questions. While I was taking the exam and feeling extremely incompetent (lol), I thought, "I should have done more questions. My scores were too low." So much for that ,right?

I passed. I did the PVT the day I took the exam and got the good pop up. I was going to check my quick results this morning, but my friend sent me a text and said I passed. I got on the boards website and sure enough, I did! It was actually on there yesterday. WooHoo! That test was insane. LOL

Tomorrow was the only day available for the next month. I need money, so............ I'm medium, maybe a little more than medium in my confidence. What in the world have I gotten myself into? LOL :) g

Hello, I am scheduled for NCLEX-PN tomorrow. I have been taking the practice tests and for the most part, not doing very good on them. How many of you have had poor performance on the practice tests, but passed your boards? I dunno what the problem is. I made good grades in school. There are about a million things to know and I have never heard of some of these things. Opinions? Thank you, Gwen

Update: I called ISU the other day and I told them I was interested in their LPN-BSN program, but I needed some clarification on one thing. So, then I asked if it mattered where you got your LPN from or if they were looking for LPN graduates of NLN accredited schools. I was told something very similar to, "No. We don't care where you went for your LPN. What we want is to see a copy of your license." :) Gwen

Why wasn't the syringe put in the sharps? I guess the best thing to do is to admit you should not have left it there. Everybody makes mistakes. Own it, learn from it, and move on. Gwen

Hello, I am graduating from LPN school at Galen in Louisville in about a week and a half. I am looking into ISU's LPN-BSN program. I am wondering if they require that you graduated from an NLN accredited LPN program to enter their program. Apparently, another student from my program called them and they said they would not transfer credits from my school. However, I am thinking that what they might really be after is a copy of your license. I do not see anyting thing concerning the accreditation requirement on their site, but I might be missing something. I do have a BS in another field. Do any of you know about this issue? Thanks, Gwen

Yes, I was referring to paying some of my tuition out-of-pocket. My tuition - financial aid = a balance. You might get lucky, though! I am not sure how they are doing the payments now. Best to ask your financial aid officer or maybe one of the students who are about to start. I know some of us pay monthly. The reason I am telling you is so you don't make any big purchases,etc. in case you have to pay. Also, it can help you plan better. Having an EFC of 0 can be misleading. I was really surprised when I found out I had to pay. :) g

Just to let you know, you might have to pay some even though your EFC is 0. Mine was, too, but I had to pay out a nice little chunk of change. So, just be aware of that. If I were you, I would start getting my shots, etc as soon as I could after getting my acceptance packet. The reason I say this is because there are time requirements between some of the shots,etc. For example, I think I had to wait a month in between MMR's boosters, but I could be wrong. The prices listed by slcmcdo5 are great! I wish I would have gotten deals like that! :) g

Oh, wow! That is a tough decision to make. A nail biter for sure! It sounds like you have had three exams thus far and have one more "regular" exam to go plus the final, correct? Ok. So, let's see. How much is each exam worth and how much is the final worth? What did you make on the first two exams? Are there any other assignments other than exams that comprise your grade? Oh, and will the final be questions taken from the previous exams or will it be all new questions? Honestly ask yourself what do you need to do to raise your scores? What could you do differently from here on out? :) g

Practice makes perfect! We do not get kits or dvd's, so I used a baby doll since I am the only human that lives in this place. LOL We just had our first check offs last week and man, I thought I was going to freak out. LOL My anxiety level went through the roof the night before and during the time before we began our check offs. LOL When I woke up that morning, I immediately got sick. I almost burst into tears a few minutes before we started, but somehow I made myself not do that. Take it slow and keep your mind on what you are doing. Also, read your scenarios thoroughly. :) g

It is doable. There are those who commute and make it through. Personally, I would not do it as I would be concerned about traffic, the possibility of car problems, the time it would take away from studying and day to day things that have to be done, and the price of gas seems to be on the rise again. Maybe look at: 1. How many days would you have to drive to the accelerated program? Now that I think about if it is not Mon-Fri, might not be that bad. 2. Cost comparison of the programs. How much are you talking about for the accelerated? 3. If you have children, do you have dependable child care that would be able to care for your child/children if you decided to commute? 4. Have you been admitted to both programs? 5. Pass rates, etc for each program. 6. Do you have a good support system? I am not sure if it would be possible for you to move or not. I am in my first quarter of an accelerated LPN program and moved here from about an hour and a half away. I already have a bachelor's degree, but I did not want to play the waiting game to see IF I got accepted to other programs or not. Getting into the programs here is crazy. I did not feel comfortable driving here 5 days a week for school. It made me nervous. I am sure it can be done. Ask yourself if you can make it work for sure without a doubt. Maybe make a pros/cons list. :) g
