  1. The manager should really fix this problem because it can drive many nurses away from this facility.
  2. Hey, All of the schools I've checked out require pre-reqs and a certain score on the ACT(american college test). The asn program requires a 18 and the bsn program requires a 21.
  3. Hey Everybody, I just got in the cna program. It starts in Jan. I just have a quick question. Do cnas work in hospitals or clinics? I know they are very popular at nursing homes. If they do work at hospitals or clinics, what type of work do they do? Thanks for any info.
  4. Hey everyone I just got accepted into the cna program near me.I thought it would help me decide if nursing is what I really want to do. I was just wondering if you guys thought it would be a good experience for me since I want to be a RN. Please tell me why or why not it would be a good experience for me. Thanks for any advice
  5. Hi Im not a cna or anything, but I have many relatives who are. My aunt has been a cna for 30 years. Eventhough her job consists of many nasty duties and rude patients, she loves it. Yes cnas are responsible for cleaning the patients and bathing them. It's a lot of hard work. To be a cna, you have to want to help people. You have to have a passion for caring. The residents at the nursing home where my aunt works fight her, curse at her and many other rude things. Just think of it in a positive way. If you were old or disabled, you would want someone to take care of you. Oh and some cnas work at hospitals doing other stuff too. :)
  6. Hey everyboby, I attend a community college now, but I plan on going to a university for nursing school. I want to pledge when I go to nursiing school. I think it is going to be very hard to do because both require alot of work and dedication. I just wanted to know if any of you pledged while in nursing school. If so, was it hard? How did you handle it? Thanks for any information.:)
  7. Hey like I said, Im kind of new To THis nursing THing. I didn'T mean TO offend any LPNs and if I did, IM sorry. I HAVE Heard oTHer nurses say LPNs are nurses wiTHouT College degrees. I know THAT THey CAN HAVE degrees in oTHER areas.
  8. Hi I also want to be a crna. A Lpn (license practical nurse) license is accomplished in one year. They are nurses without college degrees. You can start off as a lpn and apply for the lpn-rn bridge program. It usually takes one year to complete. Some schools require you to work at least one year as a lpn before applying to the program. You can also become an rn with an associates degree which is about two to three years. Another nurse or nursing student could probably explain that option better because I think you have to sit for the nclex. You can do the rn-bsn option also. To become a crna, you have to have a beachelors degree and at least one year of acute or critical care experience as a registered nurse. Then you can apply for the crna program. I hope this info. helps. If I gave any wrong info., im sure someone would correct me because Im kind of new to this nursing stuff too. :)
  9. I thought the same thing:confused:
  10. I am so sorry to hear that. I will pray for them. I feel so sad for them and I don't even know them. God will help all of you through this terrible time.
  11. Hey what exactly is a staph infection? How serious is it? I know a lady in my hometown that died from a staph infection. Is it easy to get?
  12. I don't think you were wrong at all.:)
  13. I am wondering the same thing. I hope someone gives us some feedback:wink2:

Hey Everyone, I've been told that nursing school requires alot of studying so that will leave no time for a job. My mom told me that I don't need to work while in nursing school and I totally agree. So does anyone know if there are loans out there for nursing students or loans for students just going to school? If so, do you have to have a co-signer? When I go to nursing school, I want to get a big loan to pay for school and to live off. Has anyone done that before? Is it a good idea? So give me some feedback guys. Thanks for any information:wink2:
