  1. I am a new grad on a ortho floor. I just passed boards last week, but I have been on the floor now about 3 weeks and I really enjoy it! :) THe nurse to patient ratio on my floor is 1:4 and sometimes 1:5 for all the staff RNs.
  2. I am currently an ASU student and I graduate in 2 weeks! My best friend did the 16 month program at east campus and loved it. ASU is extremely competitive to get into, but not impossible. I do recommend you retake those English classess cause you need to get all the A's you can. From what I understand from my professors ASU is not getting rid of the 16 month program. They have decreased enrollment though because of the economy. I wouldn't give up on your dream, I have had a great experience with the program. You seem like an intelligent person and I would just focus on getting A's too apply. I had 1 B with my application. Good luck!
  3. I externed there over the summer and they posted the job opening internally first thats why I already interviewed. I found out 3 days after the interview that I got the job. The first day of orientation/training is Janurary 6th.
  4. The application is online. Just go to the website... mayoclinic.org and click the job link. Then apply for the "RN New Grad" job. Good luck!
  5. I will be working in ICU :)
  6. I just got hired at MAYO for the new grad program!
  7. I am currently in the 24 month program at the downtown campus and I really like it. The big benefit to doing the 24 month program is that you can do a summer externship and that makes a huge difference in your confidence and your critical thinking skills. I externed at Mayo this summer and now that I am graduating in december I feel so much more confident and ready. My best friend did the 16 month program at East campus because she wanted to graduated ASAP and really did not have a life for 16 months. So it really just depends on how much time you want for family and friends? Hope that helps :)
  8. I am currently in the ASU program at the downtown campus and graduate this december. When I applied my GPA was a 3.89 and I got a 99% on the net and a 73% on the reading portion and I got in no problem and I even got my first choice for location. Your numbers sound really good and I don't think you will have a problem getting in. Good luck! :) Its a great program and I have learned so much and I am so excited to graduate and start working as an RN! :)
  9. I am externing at Mayo in ICU this summer and I have heard it is an excellent program!
  10. I will be externing over the summer in an ICU department and I am very excited about it, however I am nervous because we don't do our critical care rotation until the fall semester. Wish me luck! Robin
