  1. I am horrified to know such a place exists. no armbands, no pt. name labels on the headboard. so verbal communication is the only way to identify the pt.? And I have yet to see a reusable lancet and work with flashlights. This looks like a setting of a the most rural region of a third world country hospital. Brenda4, at least you have the school job and i'm sure it's far better than the one you just encountered. Anyways, however bad an experience, we can all use it as a learning experience.
  2. oh boy, i can relate to how you feel. I had times when i had no time to even have a glass of water and yet be yelled by the family members. The thing i ask is , things like turning the pt. , giving them a glass of water can also be done by the family members. But instead they choose to wait for us to do everything even when we have serious pt's to care for.I have seen family members who care for their loved ones so much that they even give a bath to the pt. everyday themselves and again there are some who vent their frustrations on us who are already frustrated. Anyways, just wanted to let you know, you are not alone. Hopefully, her daughter or son becomes a nurse one day and then she realises how stressful our work environment is.
  3. i like bedside reporting because as sweetoldworld said, you see your pt's right in front of you and can connect the report with the pt. if u receive the report at the nurses station, how will you be able to remember which report was for which pt. unless you're familiar with the pt's.
  4. Hi ghillbert, it depends on your college. sometimes the college website lists the scholarships available with the eligiblity criteria. in my case, i checked my college website and got to know of scholarships for international students. also in your college email, you get emails when there's a new scholarship available. good luck
  5. thank you silverdragon102 and helloworld, i called the cgfns office myself and they said i didn't need to send in anything, just my passport size photo with the photo identification form. they were gonna send the letter to the school on my behalf.
  6. also there was a question "where did u recently work?" i am an international student and i haven't worked anywhere but i could not got to the next page without filling up those fields so i filled out that i worked in the U.S. as a registered nurse.
  7. hello, i just completed my visa screen form online and there were i had to fill out my primary and secondary school information. i was high schooled in my country and then i got my ADN degree here. am i supposed to send only my transcript of the college i attended here? i saw people writing about CES in the above threads but it doesn't apply to me. please respond.
