  1. Stanly Community College has a great bridge program.
  2. I graduated from ECPI PN program in 2009. Very good program, but very fast paced. I was hesitant at first too felt like I just walked into a nursing program when other programs seemed like it was so much trouble getting in. The draw back is the price.
  3. Well here goes nothing I start Monday I hope to see you it will be good to kinda have a new grad buddy!!
  4. I hope so! Im getting really anxious since I havent got a start date yet........Awesome. I m sure we will are you days or nights?
  5. I don't know the exact date yet, they said the last week of Nov. I have done all my HR stuff just waiting on nurse manager to call How about you?..... Congratulations to you too :)
  6. Lexington is where I am going!!!!! Where will you be? I will be in the ED
  7. It is horrible!!! I had one at Piedmont Medical and Did the new grad day at Novant in Winston Salem. I also interviewed with Wake Forrest and was just given a job offer today!!!! I also have new grad friend who was offered a job a Wake Forrest. Its a drive but one I am willing to make. How about you?
  8. How did it go for you guys
  9. I am going to a New Grad Interview day at a hospital this week. Has anyone been to something like this? If so can you give me some insight on what to expect, what I should bring ect. Thank You
  10. The job I have now I worked at as an LPN from December until I got my RN in June. I now have moved into a RN position. How do I list this on my resume/ job applications. . Do I list them separately. I have it listed as one on my resume just dated separately but on job applications there is not a way to do this some just ask for ending job title. I don't want it to seem as though I have been a RN there since December
  11. Keeler I truly feel your pain. I so want to show them what a great nurse I will be, how I am a fast learner, dedicated and loyal. But for some reason when they ask those questions and they are staring at me I become a bumbling idiot. I don't know how to over come it, I have practiced with my friends. Researched questions and answers. But it never fails. I am just at a loss.
  12. Well I'm signed up :) I had an interview with another hospital and if I am not offered a job there then off to Winston Salem I go.
  13. Interview over!! Hopefully it went OK. I just get so nervous. After speaking with the NM it does sound like a place I would love to make a career at.
  14. Unfortunately Charlotte market is heavily saturated.
  15. Dang its for the Winston Market. I am in Charlotte
  16. Thank you!! I am very excited about my interview. I hope to be able to join the team, it sounds like a great place to work.
  17. You may still be able to apply since you will be done and can take A&P 2 starting in the spring. I would call and ask. Ms Washburn is the Director of the Nursing program
  18. Thank you for your response. I was just wondering if anyone else had done it this way, staying around home during the school year and going further once the kids are out for the summer. Do you know if all the agencies do 8 week assignments or just certain ones?
  19. I think just A&P1 you can do A&P2 the spring semester when you start. (You start in the second eight weeks of the spring semester). They do not require micro.
  20. Hello all. I have an interview at Piedmont Medical coming up. (YAY) I have been checking out the forum and there seems to be a lot of negative remarks but the most recent post is from 2011. I was wondering if any current employees can give me some insight as to how it is working there now.
  21. Hey when and where is it? I did not know they were having one?
  22. Stanly Community College. I chose it because it is close to my home. The application process was fairly simple. They had a LPN-RN bridge program. They offer weekend clinicals and 12 hour clinicals. They record all of their lectures so if you miss a class you can watch it online. You can also watch it from home in real time and they have the feature to ask questions via chat for the instructor. They do require you to go to class for testing. The pass rate is also very strong. The teachers are very supportive. I don't know if this school is close to you. The main campus is in Albemarle,NC but the health sciences campus is in Locust,NC.
  23. Hello all I don't know if this has been discussed before. I tried to look thru but didn't see anything. I am considering travel nursing in the future and would like some feedback. Has anyone done local travel during the school year and then somewhere else during the summer break? How does traveling with children work? Thank You for any insight you may have
  24. I have been calling the hospital and asking who the nurse manager is. Once I find out their name I know their email address because its a standard format thru out the hospital system. I have emailed my resume to a few and have gotten positive feed back 2 don't have positions right now but strongly encouraged me to email back when I see something on the website for their floor and I have one interview coming up. So if you have a hospital with strong security this may be an option for you. Good Luck
  25. I am right there with you. I graduated in May and passed the NCLEX in June. There is a very large new grad population here where I live. I have been applying religiously online and nothing. I have recently been calling floors and asking who the nurse manager is once I know their name I know their email address because the hospital systems have a standard format. I emailed the nurse managers my resume and I have gotten two responses so far and have an interview set up. I was getting a little discouraged seeing all my peers getting jobs and I haven't even got a call back but hopefully this will be the one :) Good luck on your search.
