You know you are in nursing school when ctxt
When you have two papers due on Wednesday that account for 10% of final grade in each class and you are on allnurses.com reading this thread:) I justify it as a mental health break!!!

you know you're in nursing school when...your 9-yr. old daughter comes home from school telling you she got in trouble. Just because she corrected the teacher about the cervical lymph nodes-proper names AND location AND how to palpate them!!! She's going to make a great !!!

How To Do Manage Full-time Work, Husband, Kids And School
You can do it. I have been going to school for 2 1/2 years now and have been doing childcare in my home the whole time (which is about 50 hours a week). I am married and have children of my own. When I first started school I had to have my house clean (beds made, dishes done, etc.). One of my instructors even told me she thought I had OCD. Wasn't that-I just was used to the routine. Well, that routine has drastically changed-beds do not get made, dishes sit in the sink sometimes until the next meal, and sometimes laundry is only done during the weekend. I have been told that my next year of school is going to be rough and we have been told by faculty and other juniors that working is out of the question. School is supposed to be #1 priority. Not with me-it is AND always will be my family. I look at other students in my classes who may work 10 hours a week and I am jealous-but only until I hear them say that they have to go home and get their assignment done that is due the next day. Hmm..mine has been for a week now and I have made it on the Dean's list 3 out of the 6 semesters. I have learned time managment and utilize it wisely. You can pull through this with hard work and determination. Good luck to you!!!

A&P II and Microbio at the same time...need advice please!
I did both also and got A's in both of them. I agree that taking both of these will help you with your nursing classes coming up. I found that my studying habits from the semester of A&P and MIcro has helped me get through the first 4 nursing classes. You CAN do it-I worked 40+ hours a week also.

Very Discourgaged
I would have to agree with the last post. Try and CLEP out of as many classes as you can. It not only will save time but also money. I tried this with college alg. and missed it by 10 questions. I decided to take the intermediate alg. online and passed with an A my first semster of school. This past summer, I took College Algebra and with the help of another classmate and a website that I found online, I earned another A. These are hard classes but can also be very fun-I looked at it as a puzzle and I had to get the outside frame done before working on the full picture. Honestly, if I can pull A's in both of these classes-anyone can as long as you put your mind to it. Good luck and go for the gold!!!

Tuition Reimbursement
Thanks for the info. I also have heard of the scholarship/internship at the Good Sam LTC facilities. There are also a couple in the Fairmont area. I was just wondering if there was anything for when a person is done with school. Right now, I could not put in the required 20-24 hours a week that are needed to get the scholarship (not with 5 kids and their time schedules). Thank you very much for the information.

Tuition Reimbursement
How about anything in southern MN? I had once heard that the there is some kind of reimbursement through the state if the student would sign an agrrement that they would work in a rural community LTC facility or with developmentally disabled. Has anyone else heard of this or had any experience with it?
