  1. Once here too - applied in June and started in January
  2. I actually have 2 dry erase boards. One is divided into 7 days that I write upcoming due dates for the next week and the other is just a large one that I can write later "to do" lists on. It sounds kinda silly but it has served me well so far.
  3. Are you kidding? I'm a 3rd semester student and I don't know anyone in my class who "loves" nursing school. But I will say that the clinicals only get better: more hands on and more skills oriented as you progress through the program. As was said before, the bookwork/studying/writing papers/researching only increases, but slowly you will start to feel like a real nurse.
  4. This is pretty funny because just yesterday I accidentally found an old professor of mine on facebook - and I ran quickly in the opposite direction. I probably wouldn't even do it after graduation, but my professors aren't known for being particularly friendly.
  5. I have started to guess how many ml's of urine were in my bladder when I go...great guessing game after a clinical day:nurse:
  6. I know that you have already started (and this would probably be a huge hassle for you) but have you perhaps considered community college? Where I go (in Long Beach - it's an ADN program) it only costs about $20/unit, which means the grand total for a semester (not including books) is only about $250. Just something to consider I suppose if you are fretting about the enormous cost of private education. Good luck!
  7. I got an A in Anatomy, an A in Physiology, and a B in Micro...so my GPA was about a 3.5 in the sciences.
  8. I am a 2nd semester student at LBCC now. I chose to go there because of their lack of a wait list. I applied in the spring of 2007, was accepted, and began Jan 2008. I also had a pretty good GPA, they accept applicants completely based on the science GPA. It helps if you have finished most if not all of your general ed prerequisites as well though. Good luck, you have a good shot!
