  1. Sorry this is a little late. Salem Hospital recently started an internship program for new grads, so it was new grads only. It would be listed as an internship program rather than a regular RN position on their website when it becomes available again.
  2. Salem Hospital just hired a lot of new grads (around 50). You might check back with them in the Winter (after January) or Spring.
  3. I have taken the OR class at Mt. Hood Community College. It gives you a basic understanding of scrubbing and circulating in the OR. They offer it in Fall and Spring terms. The class is called RNX27 (plus the lab which is RNX27L) and it is listed in the surgical technology section when you are looking for courses on the MHCC website. Hope this helps!
  4. Thanks to those that replied. Sounds like it would be a similar market to what I'm currently dealing with in Portland, OR. Thanks again for the input!
  5. My significant other may have a great job opportunity in the Twin Cities area. I was curious how the new grad market was in this area (I graduated in June of '09) and if you had any suggestions for nearby suburbs that are nice to live in. We don't know much about this area so I'm trying to get some information to take into consideration. Thanks!!
  6. I mostly focused on the Saunders Comprehensive review book. I also got the Kaplan NCLEX-RN strategies book. I did the NCSBN too but didn't find it helpful at all...I thought it was way too easy. Good luck!
  7. I just graduated from an ADN program in June of this year. I got in on my first try and I was on the waiting list so even if you get put on the waiting list it doesn't mean you won't make it.
  8. I'm going to be doing an OR rotation during my clinicals in the Fall and wanted to find some good reference or pocket books to read through before I start so I'll be a bit prepared. I plan on purchasing Alexander's Care of the Patient in Surgery. Are there any others that you would recommend? Thanks for your help!
  9. I have to do a concept map for my class which includes nursing diagnosis and interventions. I have only seen a concept map done where it links different problems together (without nursing diagnoses). Does anyone have a good example of where I can see one that is done this way? I haven't come up with much so far. I've made a care plan with one diagnosis so far but I am not getting how to go from care plan to concept map. Any basic suggestions or examples would be appreciated. :bowingpur:bow:
