  1. Network as much as you can. Talk to people. You never know if that new friend knows someone down the pipeline. That is the only way I have gotten my jobs. Best of Luck.
  2. Thank you you for responding. I have only worked per diem, which is why I am finally starting a new per diem position where I will get the experience that I need. I will also continue to work in the clinic. I have my ASN and many big facilities in Boston will not hire ASN and they want you to have experience. I am currently pursing my BSN and expect to be done next year.
  3. I have been an working as an RN for 1.5 years. For the past year I have been working in a small clinic "rooming" patients. I asked patient's questions regarding there visits, take vital signs, give neb treatments, medication and many vaccines. I also triage phone calls at times. My problem is that I am not using all my skills and I feel like I just don't know anything anymore. I seldomly deal with lab reports and do not do many assessments. I feel like I have lost a lot of what I learned in school. I will be starting a new job next week and will gain a ton of experience, but I am worried that I will not always have answers for many things. One of my big concerns is that I do not deal with meds regularly and am afraid of not knowing all the drugs right off the top of my head without looking it up. Does anyone have advice for me? Thank you
  4. Thank you so much for the helpful information. I will be taking this exam soon. I want to finish my BSN as fast as I can.
  5. Medic2514, Thank you for the great info. I am a little worried about the time factor. I like to reread things a couple of times. Are you able to go back and review the passage once you start answering questions? Also is it true that there are 140 questions?
  6. For those of you that have taken the Analyzing and Intrepreting CLEP exam, what study materials did you use? How long did you prepare before taking the exam? Thank you
  7. TiffyRN, Did you take the stats course in 15 weeks or 8 weeks? I am taking it in 15 weeks and I am hoping this will help me considering I expect to struggle with it. 8 weeks would not work for me
  8. I need to take a statistics for my BSN degree with EC. I am absolutely terrible with algebra. I am considering taking the stats for health care, but not sure if I am going to struggle with this. Can someone offer some advice please. Thank you

  17. I just signed up to he my BSN. For those of you that have started this program or have completed what did you think? Most importantly to me right now is what classes did you take together. I want to get through this as fast as I can.
  18. I have been on several interviews. I have received one per diem postion and believe I have another position that will be offered to me. My dilemma is.. If I am offered a position lets say tomorrow and have an interview for another facility later in the week, what do I say to the facility that offers me the job.
  19. I am frustrated after today. While working today (not as a nurse or even in a medical faculty) a customer had a TIA. His family said it happened recently and they knew what wa going on. I was trying to see if the customer would respond to me, but he didn't. He could not squeeze my hands, pupils looked equal and round. He was sitting upright. He had several layers on and was sweating. I unbuttoned his shirts. He started to slouch down And another nurse came over to hold his head up while we waited for an ambulance. By the time it got there he was responsive, knew where he was and able to squeeze hands.I am mad at myself because I don't know if I could have or should have done more. I wasn't nervous. I was very calm. Just seeing this other nurse jump into action who has 30 years to my 0 experience, made me feel so foolish. I know I have so much to still learn.Sorry for the venting.
  20. How long did you have to wait until you heard back from Steward?
  21. Katierobin23,Thank you for your advice. Unfortunately I can not move out of Boston. My husband works for the city so we have to stay. I have several resumes out, so I will keep my fingers crossed.Happy New Year!
