  1. Here is what I did when I worked 12 hour nights... If you keep them together...you can work, for example...MTW, then have off until the Wednesday of the following week when you can work ***. Some places require you work one Monday and one Friday a month. This system worked great and it gives you enough break that fitting in an OT shift is less of an issues. :-)
  2. i agree with the below statement, though having guidlines is a comfort and knowing that you are at a facility that response to the words, "but the awhonn guidelines say...." is nice. you are very right in that a couplet with feeding issues can really eat up hours of a shift (no pun intended). these sorts of things need to be passed along to the charge nurse so that these patients are placed with less heavy patients when assigned.:icon_roll
  3. me too!!!! :heartbeat:yeah:
  4. All the Baylor Healthcare Network hospitials offer this plan, they invented it. They call it TDA, as mentioned, and at the hospitals I have worked, the plan involved working every Sat. and Sun. for 12 hour days or nights, and getting paid for 36 hours + TDA differential:bow:. You are also considered full time and received full benefits, including time off and sick time. These positions don't make to the hire boards very often. There is usually a waiting list within the units for the spots. If you find one, jump on it, because they usually fill very, very fast. You can go to the main Baylor Healthcare web site and do a career search. Just put in TDA.
