I'm waiting to hear from North Hennepin's May 2012 start for the LPN-Mobility. Anyone else out there waiting for NHCC?
  7. That's just too darn many residents to be responsible for. Where's your Charge Nurse? Has anything been said about punching out late? You sound like a terrific nurse, but you're gonna get BURNED OUT. Can you cut back on your hours girl you need a break. Yes I work LTC but my residents have no swallowing or behavioral problems and love to take their meds from the NURSE, plus I've only got 20 residents.
  8. My facility has also started this type of med pass, and after working out a few kinks it is going well. No more rushing around with the med cart from hell attached to your hip. It is leaving us time to do other things with and for our residents. There are certain meds that have designated times like narcs, psychotropics, Coumadin, PPI's, NSAIDS and night meds are timed btwn 12a n 6a. Like anything new you get familiar and wonder how you did without. Oh I work LTC.
  9. Working in LTC charge nurse, but everytime State comes through they ask who is the RN in Charge, they have no idea of my role at this facility, so I decided to return to school, have been taking pre-reqs parttime for the past 5 yrs, will be applying to a bridge prog this Spring 2012 at NHCC. The RN's I work with are wonderful.:cheers:
  10. New here, so how are clinicals done through Excelsior?
