Failing the NCLEX at 77 Questions
I just took my exam yesterday and it turned off on the 78th question. It was my second time taking the exam, and I believe I was actually more nervous than the first time. This is absolute torture, I was an excellent student as an Undergrad and I just don't understand why this exam was so hard for me. I'll find out tomorrow if I have to start telling all my family, "third time is the charm!" God, I hope I passed!!!:uhoh21:

Post Nclex Anxiety!
I just took the NCLEX for the 2nd time, yesterday. I'm more nervous than I was the first time. Last time I had 265 questions, and this time I only had 78. Not sure if it's a good or a BAD thing!! I'm really stressed, I'll find out tomorrow, if I didn't pass I'm not sure I'll have the motivation or time to study all over again. I was on the Dean's list all 2 years of my Undergraduate, and I don't understand why this exam was so hard for me. I really only studied for two weeks the first time. But, my second time I took Kaplan's online review course and finished it all and studied for 2.5 months.

Nclex Is Over!!!!
I failed NCLEX my first time, reviewing only for 2 weeks before with the NCBSN online course. I just took the exam again yesterday, and reviewed with an online Kaplan course. It helped me a lot and made me feel more confident on how to approach the exam. The first time I had 265 questions; yesterday I had only 78. God, I hope I passed!

Masters Degree for School Nurses?
Yes, in IL it is 4 courses-which can be done 100% online in a semester-and also an internship. As I mentioned before, I'm applying to UIC School Nurse Certificate program. I'm just feeling discouraged because of all the negative feedback I read about feeling considered "below," teachers as a school nurse. What are your thoughts on this?
-
Nurse Practioners, what are your hours/schedules like?
That's exactly what I would want as a schedule, having summers and holidays off would be great. So holding only a Masters you can't be on a tenured track in most Universities? I didn't know that. I'm contemplating getting a PhD. in Nursing since my ultimate career goal is to become a Nursing professor. What are your thoughts on the BSN-PhD. programs?
-
Nurse Practioners, what are your hours/schedules like?
hello, i'm curious what are your hours and schedules like? also as a np can you teach nursing? thanks for all your input, i am really interested in learning more about my options as a nurse, and what type of advanced roles there are.

NP's and career flexibility?
I'd like to know the answer to your question as well. I applied for a CNL Masters program but am contemplating switching over to a NP track. I'd like to know a little bit more about work schedules, opportunities, and salaries?
-
CNS same as CNL?
I applied for the fall semester so I think I can still switch majors to the Nurse Practitioner track since the Clinical Specialist degree is not offered anymore. I don't see myself retiring as a bedside nurse, so I don't think the CNL is the best option for me from what I'm hearing!
-
Masters Degree for School Nurses?
Also is it unheard of for a School Nurse to have an MSN-NP?
-
CNS same as CNL?
Well the University I'll be attending is among the first in the nation to offer this new program of study: CNL. Will I be at a drawback being a CNL and trying to find positions outside of the hospital, such as at Universities as faculty or private practices?
-
Masters Degree for School Nurses?
:nurse:Why are nurses lumped into the same category as custodial care? Is this everywhere or just in some districts? Aren't certified School Nurses seen as liscensed personnel just like social workers, school psychologists, speech pathologist, and physical therapists?
-
CNS same as CNL?
after receiving a msn-cnl isn't there many post-masters certificate options offered such as np and nurse educator certificates?
-
Masters Degree for School Nurses?
Do some districts allow nurses to be on Teacher's Salary? What about their union?
-
Masters Degree for School Nurses?
UIC, in Chicago.

Masters Degree for School Nurses?
Hello, What type of advanced degree did you pursue that complimented/applied to your current title as a School Nurse? MSN, MEd, FNP(if so what specialty), CNL (if so what specialty)? Did it result in higher pay? Are School Nurses on Teacher's salary? What are your benefits like. I am asking because I am very interested in becoming a School Nurse in Illinois. I graduated in December, and am applying for graduate school in the fall along with taking a School Nurse Certificate Program online (3 classes and a clinical). My plans were to work as a School Nurse while attending graduate school and post-graduate school.

Over Educated, and under experienced??
Get your DNP now, and your experience will later. I'm also planning on getting all my schooling out of the way while I'm still young, and have the ability to do so. Good Luck!
-
Doctoral degree to become an NP???
Rush University offers a DNP program.

CNS same as CNL?
Hello, I'm looking into graduate programs and am having some diffficulty understanding the Clinical Nurse Leader Masters Program. In IL are CNL APN? Are CNL the same as CNS? I also read that APN options will be phased out in coming years and the DNP will replace them, what are your opinions on that? Thanks for clarifying!:bowingpur
