I start my first job tomorrow in a local county jail. I am an LPN who graduated in August. I am wondering if there are any certifications that would be helpful for me to have. Thanks

I go to clinicals two days a week. I usually switch my rings during the week. I have a puzzle piece set that I wear when not at the hospital. I also have a flat wedding band that I clean with an alcohol swab when I leave the hospital. We are not allowed to wear anything but a flat wedding band with no stones and a watch.

While you do have to have a masters there is a way to go from ADN to CNM. Some master's programs offer ADN to MSN route. Shenandoah University in Virgina is one of those schools that offers this option.

I have lived in the Winchester area all my life. I personally love the area. It is close enough to the city that if you got a job there you could commute. Most of my inlaws live in Winchester and they work in Reston. Also many people also work in West Virginia. The hospital over there has better employment and benefits. The VA hospital is also very close. I think if you were looking for a place that isn't a city but have been used to that city life it would be nice to be close enough to go to the city. Hope you find a place that works for you.

I am in nursing school now and have been told that this was acceptable. While learning VS, I wanted to practice on my husband (who has very large arms and won't fit my regular sized cuff) and my nursing instructor told me to check it this way and use the radial pulse. I have never done this with an automatic cuff though.

I will be taking A&P 1 INtro to Microbiology Nutrition and Diet Public Speaking I am really scared of the 2 sciences but I am trying to crunch in classes.
