  1. I live in the Jacksonville area. My goal would be to work in a hospital, but all of the avaliable positions say you have to have a year clinical experience. I guess my question is if everyone wants you to have one year clinical experience then how do you get your start????
  2. I am considering going to school to become a CNA in September. :yeah:I was wondering if you can tell me how quickly you found a job, your starting pay and where you became a CNA first. I wanted to work in a hospital, but most job ads say you have to have a yr in a clinical setting. Basically any advice-the good, the bad and the ugly! Thanks!
  3. I am a student at FCCJ and I am on my 14th online class. I am getting my A.A. degree and also getting the prereq's for the nurisng program. I am taking as many of them online as possible. Its great, you just have to be completely self motivated. I love the flexibility that I have with online classes. As far as hurting you in the future, it will not hurt you because on your transcript it reads just as though you were in a regular class. It does not show that you took them online. So its just what works for your schedule and learning style whether you should go on campus or online! Good Luck!
  4. itsa307 I am in the same boat as you, I just turned 31 though. I am starting up Human Nutrition this term and I will be taking classes one at a time until the prereq's are complete. I just keep telling myself I can do this. I have a 6,5 and two year old. My goal is to be a nurse before my 6 year old hits middle school if not before! (He's in 1st grade now) So good luck to all us 30 somethings!
  5. I have question! :) I was looking online at job postings at a local hospital because I am thinking about getting a part-time job while going to school to be a R.N. Anyway, they had a posting for a NST in the CVICU department is a NST different from a CNA??? Or is it something completely different? Thanks for the help!
  6. Good Question! I actually wondered the same thing! I am not worried about the classes and GPA I am worried about the NET. I have never been good at those type of test. I am concerned I wont get in. I have thought just like you about applying to differerent medical programs. I also thought about becoming an LPN getting my foot in the door. ( if I dont get in first try that is) and then reapplying. But I am hoping for the first try! R.N. is what I want!
  7. Im new to this site and I am taking Nutrition online starting next week. I am soooo excited because it will be my first prereq for nursing. :w00t:
