  1. I am getting ready to apply for NS in fall '09. Finishing up pre-reqs! SO excited! Good Luck to everyone joining me at the same time. Angela
  2. Count me in, I'm taking Chm1030 during the summer starting in May. Hope I do better with it now than I did in high school. Angela
  3. Hey sorry I've been out of town for awhile, my hubby and I just got back last weekend from The Grammy's award show in LA. Anyway I am not taking a class at UCB I am taking the class at a Florida college online. I just found that UCB does their lectures on Podcast (or something like that) so I can view their lectures online and it helps me with understand the text better. Took my 2nd test and make 100 this past Thursday, I don't know how I did it but I'm so excited!!! Angela
  4. Took my first Test on Wednesday, make a 98! Woohoo! This next test I was told is the worst, most people get around 60 on the test. Hope it is not me. Taking that test in a week, wish me luck!! Angela
  5. I am in the same situation as you. I am a stay at home mom to a 21 month old and a 3 month old. I don't work, but I go to school Mon-Thur 5:30-6:45 and I am taking Nutrition online. Last semester I took 2 classes Human Dev. and Psych. both made A's (and I had my daughter during the semester) So far so good this semester I'm taking 3 classes. Nutrition,Western Civ (finishing up my other courses) & Statistics. I'm doing well in all so far (cross your fingers) I am taking 2 classes this summer, my western civ 2 and speech courses) My opinion is Human Dev is mostly common sense (if you are a mother you should do well in this and the class is really interesting) I barely studied and made an A, you will just have to study theories and such but that's all it really isn't bad. If you are determined to make a good grade, then I would just buy a calendar and write down your days--study, in class, reading the textbook, etc. make time for studying and get your husband, parents, inlaws, boyfriend, sibling etc to help you so you have time. Don't be afraid to ask for help, you will need to once to get into the nursing classes. Angela
  6. Hey! Found a useful site for anyone who is taking this class online or anyone that wants for lecture time. UC Berkeley has a bunch of classes online...Introduction to Nutrition is one of them. I have a test tomorrow and listening to there lecture on it and it has become really helpful in understanding how the whole digestive system works. here ya go... http://webcast.berkeley.edu/course_details.php?seriesid=1906978462 Angela
  7. Congratulations, yay! I'm so nervous, I'm taking my first test tomorrow morning! It is on the 1st 3 chapters....Digestion,Absorption and Transport as well as overview &healthy diet strategies. AHH! Can't wait for it to be over! Angela
  8. Hey everyone! I'm starting this class this semester online and I am very nervous...this will be my first online class! Wanted to make a thread where all of us braving this class this semester can help eachother out, post questions etc. Good luck to you all! Angela Can we get this sticky?
  9. Hey I was wondering what the typical degree is to work in this department. I'm a married mother of 2 and working on my pre reqs, applying for nursing school next year, wondering what degree I should seek to work in this area. I was told that L&D nurses need a lot more education than your typical RN. Any help would be great!! Angela
  10. You should go to: www.lionden.com/learning_styles.htm You can click to take a learning test to see how you learn easily. I has helped me tremendously! After the test it shows you the ways you would benefit to increase your knowledge intake and studying habits. It's great, go check it out!
  11. I just bought a book last night at Barnes and Noble on medical terminology, it was a $70 book I got for $8, huge book and looks like it will be very helpful once I get my pre reqs done. They may have it on sale where you are (in the bargain books section)
