I'll let you both know when the group is up. I just registered for my class. The email sent said we had from today until May 12th to register for our classes. As for the modules….no, I can't seem to find them…which is frustrating.

L&D nurses aren't required to have ACLS? Wow. Our L&D and antepartum nurses are required to have it, along with NRP. Our postpartum nurses aren't required to have ACLS though....which is strange to me.

Has anyone gotten their official letter of acceptance with their Jag number and email? Also, when you submitted your acceptance package, did you get an email that it was submitted successfully?

I know two people who have done the WHNP program in recent years and they both thought it was a great program.

Thank you for the update. In that case, it likely won't be here until Monday, which is going to drive me nuts because I work that day and will have to wait to check the mail when I return home.

You're right. I went back and checked my emails and there is one that says 8 weeks with some additional time for the letters to actually be sent out. And yes, please do let us know what information you receive after calling.

WHNP program here. Anxiously awaiting a response. Last email I got said 6 weeks to receive a response after the deadline of January 15th. It's been over 7 weeks. Anyone try to get in contact with the college and see how much longer before letters are sent out?

University of South Alabama has that program, and does accept Louisiana residents. I do believe they only require one on-campus visit during the program.

Hi there! I graduated last year from the program. It's a great program, but you definitely have to be on top of your work. Use the calendars the instructors provide (or make your own) concerning when assignments and exams are due. Read the Q&A forums every day. Don't hesitate to email your professor with any questions that you may have. Most of the classes required papers, discussion boards, and quizzes. The Capstone class, which is your final class, is really not as big of a deal as you might think it is, even though it's worth so many credits. You'll do great, I'm sure!

It's the first one, but I don't believe you capitalize the name of the theory. For example….Erikson's (date) theory of psychosocial development states that…. I struggled with this for a paper I had to write last year, but learned that you don't capitalize theories, laws, models, etc. in APA format. Good luck on your paper!

You're welcome 1mrsbs! Oiseau_libre - we used the Jarvis textbook. Many thought that the quizzes were geared more towards nurse practitioner students. I didn't have much trouble (but then again, I tend to overstudy), but several others did. I took it in March/April 2014. Congrats on making it to the last class and good luck!

396 is a very interesting class. You'll be updating your resume, doing a nursing philosophy, and a nursing portfolio, just to name a few things. It's basically a class to give you the knowledge in presenting your nursing skills to potential employers in a professional manner. 327 was also an interesting class. It's exactly as it sounds, concentrating on the role of the professional nurse in the community. You are required to write a few papers on identifying a health hazard in the community you live in and the strategy you would implement to fix the hazard.

ULL has a good online program. Just be sure to stay on top of your assignments (printing out the assignment calendars they provide is a BIG help), and know your APA style as if your life depended on it . Good luck to all of you who are embarking on the journey to your BSN!
