  1. i graduated in august from my rn program...and let me tell you what i have learned... people looooove to talk about the bad stuff: care plans are hard...say goodbye to your friends and family...your broke...blah blah blah... but...the difference here is it's worth something in the end...and it's up to you to focus on the good stuff (just like with everything else in life) it's tough and you will cry...but you will learn very fast if you want to be a nurse or not...good luck and i think it's VERY worth it all ;o)
  2. to help anybody worried...i just graduated in august and i got in with a 187...i killed the nat and that's how i got in:yeah: good luck to everyone!! It's 100% worth all of your time, effort, money and nerves! janice:heartbeat
  3. YOU ROCK LADY! i have been looking for the price for days....thanks!! I can get in here without needing to raise my GPA lol so now I just have to see if work will pay for it! See you tomorrow bright and early!! xoxo
  4. is anyone enrolled into the JU program? Looking for feedback before signing up for a school....thanks everyone!! Oh...and if anyone knows the cost i would appreciate it...thanks!
  5. I agree....best bet is to go to the office....stuff changes so much around there ;o)
  6. Hey LisaNurse09...I'm in term two right now....I'm not sure what book that the bookstore is out of....I might be willing to part with it though for a good price ...Let me know if you're interested...
  7. I'm not sure if any of you are in need....but I've just started term 2 and I am wanting to part with some of my term 1 books...we can work out a good price...just send me a private message... Also I have some killer study guides already in folders and ready to go that I would be willing to share for a little $ too (I wouldn't normally ask for any money...but trust me they're worth it!) Have a great term one everybody!!
  8. i'm not sure where in florida you are....but if you have a bachelors be sure to look into getting your bachelors in nursing and not your associates it's more money with more opportunity to advance as far as management goes...and if you have a co-existing bachelors...no matter what the subject...you can skip the AS part.... there are a lot of good all online programs...such as UCF...FSU...UNF good luck!!
  9. you get your skills kit the day of orientation....good luck everyone!! It's a great ride!
  10. there is a girl in my term with tatoos on her arm and wrist and she has to cover them with white long sleeved shirts...it's not biggie though and as far as earrings they allow one stud....all of your hair has to be off of your shoulders....you can only wear one ring with no jewels in it... the nurses and techs that actually work there don't have to follow the same rules...just lucky us:heartbeat good luck!
  11. I agree so much with misswhitney....there is a girl in my class who is pregnant and I couldn't imagine...she's got loads of experience helping her out...so she is doing great! me....i would freak out if i found out i was pregnant **yeah birth control** as far as the honeymoon thing...i would go with spring break if you want to go somewhere warm or christmas break (it's the longer one) for snuggle weather good luck on all of your plans....but try not to make anything to definite until you get started and feel it all out for yourself :heartbeatgood luck to all fall students...and if i could give you advice..find some ppl in the program willing to share study guides...it will help you out a lot! bye ladies!!:heartbeat
  12. make sure your stethoscope has a bell side and a diaphragm side (they have them in the book store at north campus) but i have a littman and a littman lightweight and love them both...no certain color oh the blood pressure cuffs in the bookstore come with cute little carrying casses ;o) Congrats!
  13. you can always contact berlinda tookes with worksource at fccj north campus and tell her about your problem...she will be the one who handles your account in the end anyway and she is awesome!
  14. that's the exact thing i've been telling everyone in my term...remember when we were soooooo excited! LOL....and I am thankful every day that I'm in the program. .....my next bit of adivce: stay away from the ones that b***h about everything...they will only bring you down. Like mlblmt said....it's one of the cheapest places around....and what I've realized is it's school being organized and taught by nurses...not teachers ;o) They are awesome nurses...and that's what you really end up needing... Be happy every day that you are going to end up a nurse...that's what is getting me through! Good Luck everyone! The packets are confusing...so if you have any questions aks early...and do not put any of the stuff off oh!! and keep all of your receipts for taxes! ok..that's all for my big run on post of the day...back to care plans.......................
  15. just a little tid-bit from someone who is in first term..they change things a lot and without warning....i know that a lot of people told me to be ready for a crazy amount of dis-organization....but nothing prepared me for how UNORGANIZED it is! don't get me wrong...i'm so glad i got in...and I do love what I am learning...but if you are stressing over getting a letter go ahead and get your happy pills now for when class starts! good luck though ladies and gents!! if you have any questions let me know....
