  1. Good Luck to everyone!! I just finished school yesterday, I had my last test and we are graduating on the 16th! School is sending our applications for NCLEX, I am very nervous already.
  2. congratulations!! great news!!
  3. I think our age has nothing to do, We all have fears in our performance specially when you are a new grad, in my classroom are 2 students almost 55, they say it has been a little difficult but they have done very good in their grades plus we are working students with a professor if you know what I mean! I think you have something very important DETERMINATION, which is going to help you. I will pray for you! You will do fine!:wink2: Good Luck! Keep me posted!
  4. That's ok, I was trying to help and then I got everything confused ad gave wrong answers, well at least I realized after I read the posting and I am very grateful that I was corrected! since that made me realized what I did wrong :imbar. I am studying for my final tomorrow and I entered the web and read the problem I though "I can help!" but I did not double check my answers and there you have I WAS GIVING WRONG ANSWERS . Good that my mistake was cleared. :wink2:
  5. No, I just did not pay attention when I was answering the question! so I got confused and got a wrong answer! But now I get it
  6. 10ml/min=600ml/hr which is the infusion rate!
  7. Thank you, I was confused! I knew I have to calculate the remaining hours (8) but once I started I went back to 7, that's why its very important to double check math questions!! I do have a question, why do I need to change the drop factor to micro (60) since that information was not given in the problem? Should I change it even though it was not given every time that I have results with low gtt/min?
  8. Just keep practicing those questions, remember do not second guess, it is true that your first instinct is usually the right one! I am having my final test tomorrow for Community Nursing and then I am done! I have been practicing with sounders question for Nclex and I think it is good. Good Luck, Let me know how you did!!!
  9. I am sorry to hear that. If the police gave a ticket to the other driver, you do not need to worry! Their insurance need to pay for your damage. It is really frustrating when something like that happen. I hope everything come out clear for you!
  10. Hello! I am graduating this August 9th !! My school is applying for us, we filled the application, paid!! and now is waiting period. I can feel all your stress as mine. But we are going to do
  11. Hello, I was wondering to which program are you applying? I am graduating this August 9th, from RN BSN, I can tell you about that!
  12. Ok, let's get this straight: Your order is: give 1250ml in 15 hr, drop factor is 10gtt/ml, rate 14gtt/min. After 7hrs 500ml are remaining , recalculate rate.I think you need to focus in what is asking: recalculate the remaining 500ml for the following 7hrs. With the data you have it should be 500ml / 7hr (420min) and multiply by drop factor of 10gtt/ml (500/420x10=11.9=12gtt/min) In your second problem: I really do not understand the question, there is something missing. Order 180mg/kg, pt's weight 75kg, 1000 in 100 min? Waht is the concentration of the medication in the 1000ml? or do you need to know how fast you will give the 1000 in 100 minutes (10ml/min) I really do not know whatis the question asking because 180x75=13500 but you cannot do anything else since you do not have the medication concentration. I am sorry, I try to help, if some one give you a better answer, please let me know!
  13. Hello, I have been unable to look into the site for few months because I was concentrated in my final semester classes. I took a glance to your email, and I do not agree (in part) of what are you saying. I do not know which nursing program you are taking, but those basics nursing care are very important to improve patients outcome, I know it sounds boring and repetitive mobilization, turning q2h, incentive spirometry, deep breathing and coughing, woung care, ADLs,.... but those are the core of nursing care and if they are not performed it does make a difference in pt's outcome negatively speaking. You are right, you should be trained in emergency care, how to think and respond, I wonder why you have not being trained on that because you are supposed to! At first I was confused with care plans and I thought they were a waste of time but then, with time you realized that you incorporate in your thinking what you were writing over and over again, of course every patient is different but regardless the etiology that causes fluid volume imbalance, less or more than body requirements, the interventions are the same! just few modifications depending on etiology base; so, I got it, and I can recognize any S/S, clasify the nursing diagnosis pertaining to them, and I know what to do within a nurse's scope of practice.
  14. I am sorry to hear that! I think you should try and relax a little, I know it is difficult to do when you are in a situation like that but just stop thinking about that for now, there is nothing that you can do to make it better, you did take correct step:report immediately after you found out about the error. As you said your family is also involved and suffering as well. Have faith that everything is going to work out good:up:
  15. I am sorry to hear that! I think you should not resign, always talk directly with your superior or whomever was involved in the disciplinary action. Do not believe everything that you hear, in every workplace there is always gossip.
  16. I had a little difficulty with math as well and I tried seraching n google. I wrote medication calculation, an I checked the first three sites that came up. What a nice surprise! They were very helpful. They expalined everything including conversions, IV rate..... They also have quizes where you can practice and recheck your answer. I hope this help you!! There is no nee to expend money in a book when you can fin info online!
