  1. I too had a love hate relationshipwith med/surg.Our patients were acutly ill. Most on respirators, many dressing changes and pills to pass as well as multipe i.v s.We NEVER had less than 8 patients apiece.Sometimes 9.Very hard situation with call bells going off and respirators alarming. And a day didnt go by that someone didnt code. But im now a Dr.s nurse and most of the time im bored stiff!I miss my days in the hospital and many many nurses didnt make it throught the short orientation thay offered.i hope to go back some day(if the staffing ratios dont get even worse) I always thought they should staff acording to pt acuity! 2. Kellymarie...if your on your way already to being an RN. you may want to finish up there. The schools i hear have waiting lists. But as an LPN there is more work than you can handle, and plenty of places that will give you a nice sign on bonus and tution rembursment. Its nice to be where the sun shines almost every day and you dont have to deal with bad weather just to get to work!
  3. I worked as a CNA trainer for the American Red Cross.I am an LPN.Nice work for part time.Pays not great. But was a very nice rewarding change.
  4. Amen.....Western Ny pay is the pits......Moved to florida two years ago......Never looked back.Florida is beautiful...Got tired of them 9 month winters...and being taxed to death........
  5. Cold enough here in Florida. In the upper thirty's last night.Dont miss one flake of that snow!Being from western New York(in the snow belt of course!)it cracks me up to see the natives here freeze and complain.Dont miss slip sliding to work every day from nov to march...in white outs or just plain ice covered roads.Ya that snow can be pretty some times....but only when your not on your way to work and you home sitting in front of a nice fire!!!! bella548;)

I was wondering.....even though this has been dicussed many times and there is plenty of thoughts on this in the archives....why can the question be posted again for the newer members to respond to and if the more senior members are not interested in it why do they respond?????????Is there some sort of regulation on this?
