  1. Can I ask which hospital you are speaking of? I have been a nurse since 2010 and would love to work in oncology, so far I have not had any luck in my area.
  2. I am currently enrolled in SUNY Delhi. It gets easier to navigate, trust me. You won't be able to access your class yet in Vanko Hall, they usually open it 1 wk. before class starts.
  3. So far the orientation course is pretty easy to navigate. It familiarizes you with APA format (uggh) and reinforces what plagiarism is and how to avoid it. It is 7 wks though! I think that just changed this semester, it used to be 11 days. I registered for summer and fall classes, so anxious to actually start the nursing courses. Good Luck!
  4. I am currently taking the orientation course online and am about to start my first nursing courses soon. I am curious if there any other Delhi students or alumni out there that could give some advice or suggestions. I am a little nervous about some of the courses and especially doing it online and just looking for a little reassurance. Thanks in advance!
  5. I doubled up every semester except 1 and was working full-time. It's a heavy load but it can be done. Clinicals are done at Nyack Hospital and Good Sam, Rockland Psych, Summit Park and you will have to attend a few one day seminars and such. The professors are great and helpful.
  6. I graduated from RCC in 2010 and had a great experience. Tough program but all worth it! Good Luck!!
  7. They have a list of the required courses and description on the website. The tuition is inexpensive also. It is rolling admission but they do fill up quickly. Good luck to you too!
  8. I am starting SUNY DELHI online in March for my BSN and was wondering if anyone else is currently enrolled or have graduated from there? Just trying to get some feedback and maybe start a support group for current students. I am very excited!
  9. I was wondering the same thing! I took mine on 7/10 and it's not posted yet.

Nurse JJ09- My friend did not take the position due to commuting issues. I would hope that things are different there now also, for the better! It doesn't hurt to apply and go an interview...ask lots of questions and ask them to take you on a tour. If you like psych you will get some experience and then you can always move on. I didn't stay there long..about 3 months. Good Luck!!
  11. Congrats!! I also just found out that I passed too!! Sooo excited, it almost doesn't feel real! I had 75 questions- tons of prioritization and infection control..a few delegation, about 8 med questions, 10 SATA, 1 picture and 1 calculation! Whew!!!
  12. Thanks for the advice and Congratulations to you! I am taking NCLEX RN in 4 days and am feeling pretty good but must admit I am nervous because I'm not sure what to expect. I have been doing tons of questions and reviewed some unfamiliar diseases I came across in my questions but that's it! I am nervous about the drug questions and of course my weak area like maternity..uggh! I just want this to be over with!! haha..hopefully I will feel the same way you did after the test!
  13. I am also taking NCLEX RN on Saturday!! Wow, time has gone fast since graduating. I honestly slacked off after graduating too, but have been preparing for the last 2 weeks by doing lots of practice questions, reviewing pharmacology and looking up unfamiliar things in Saunders. I think we just have to trust that we know more than we don't and try not to let anxiety get the best of us and we will do fine! GOOD LUCK!! :)
  14. 60 mg = 1 gr
  15. Hydration first!
  16. Good for you!! You should be proud to be an LPN! I was an LPN for 14 years before I decided to go back to school for my RN and I spent most of my career working in LTC and I loved it. I loved my residents and loved going to work everyday. As long as your happy with what you do that's all that matters!
  17. Hi Luvbug..I just sent you a message. I hope you get it, not sure if I did it right..lol
  18. Congrats!!!:yeah: I'm taking mine on the 10th and am trying to prepare but oh boy is it tough!! How did you study? Any areas you recommend to focus on?
  19. Crazitree-- I also take mine on the 21st and am freaking out! Although, I don't think I'll ever feel prepared! I wish us all luck..
  20. Wow..thanks for the inspiration and advice! I just scheduled my NCLEX today, so I have about a month to prepare and was just thinking to myself..Where do I start? Did you find the med questions you were tested on were familiar to you? Congrats to you!!
  21. So, I am attempting to study for this monster we all know as NCLEX and have no idea on what areas to focus on. I know I need to study everything but is that really possible?? I am seeking advice from all past NCLEX takers: What areas did you find to be of importance on your exams? Thanks so much!:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe

I worked there about 10 years ago and wasn't thrilled with it then. It was poorly staffed and the staff they had were not well qualified. And the place was run down but I would hope that things have changed after 10 years!! A friend of mine just had an interview there last week and I believe they offered her 30.00/hr as a new grad. Good Luck!!
  23. Good Luck!! I am still waiting for mine and the wait is torture!
  24. I started applying 2 months before graduation hoping to get ahead of the game, plus I have been an LPN for the past 14 years and thought it would help but no such luck. I have not got one call and I've sent out at least 50 resumes, even to jobs that I really didn't want. The ads are out there but no bites. So, I'm not sure what advice to give you but know that it really is a tough time out there right now and we may not get our dream job at first but a job and experience is better than none. Good Luck!!
  25. congrats~~~~:yeah:
