  1. Absolutley! I have seen this many times. When you do the VE you can feel the scar tissue, and they tend to bleed more through/after delivery. I have noticed it can take some time to get the cervix to start to dilate. Not all patients are the same. I have found that multiple TA's can do the same. Most do end up delivered lady partslly though.
  2. I work in a busy urban tertiary care hospital. Approx 3000-3500 birth/year. We need to have 3 stable temps/ vital signs 1 hour apart before the bath is done in the patients room. I prefer to do the 1st bath myself then have the parents repeat before discharge.
  3. Never be afraid of NRP. That is the first thing I tell the new staff coming into the area. I am an instructor and the course is actually quite fun. Read the book (yes it can be very dry) but it really shows the actions needed very well. As an instructor I am not there to fail you! It is not a pass or fail type of course, it is something that will become second nature to you, so you really need to know the course material. Welcome to the Perinatal Specialty!
