Pretty sure I failed at 75
it wouldn't be fair to yourself to ASSUME that you failed. it feels like that every time. the NCLEX is not a clear cut and paste pass or fail. everyone i know (including myself) have felt the way you felt. my advice to you is to just take a break, don't think about it, and just enjoy yourself. if you passed, then congratulations. if not, swallow your pride, clear your head of the shortcoming, and get back on the horse. i WILL pass, but on God's time, not yours. MAHALOS! jcruz

i finally did it! your boy is official!
dear all, finally after a couple attempts, i beat the NCLEX! i sat on may 5, with 7 SATA, 6 med calculations, 7 meds, assessment questions and a LOT of priority and delegation questions. after 2 hours and 75 questions later, the computer shut off! unlike my previous attempts, i KNEW that i passed this time. to those that believe in God, through His grace, he makes all things possible and remember, you will pass on His time, not yours. and to all, keep focused, determined, and never quit! finally, i would like to thank suzanne for helping so many people with her review. i HIGHLY recommend it to those testing for the NCLEX-RN. she truly is a godsend, and in my eyes, is someone who i really respect for taking the time out of her life to help those in need.

I dont know if I can go on...
meme, trust me i know how you're feeling. let's just say i have taken the test more than twice. i took it for the fourth time today. i know it's hard to hear this, but do NOT be discouraged. the NCLEX is a very hard test that analyzes your critical thinking skills. i'm sure since you barely graduated in dec 07, that the content should still be fresh in your head. i have been in your shoes more than once, even contemplating on whether or not i belong in nursing. but the thing is to keep on pushing. you didn't go through all the trials and tribulations of nursing school, all the countless hours of clinical time and studying for tests, just to give up now. i feel that what has hindered me to pass the previous times i tested was 1) insufficient studying, 2) extreme nervousness and anxiety and 3) rushing through questions. next time you take your test, take your time and think things out. i also took suzannes plan and i feel like her study strategies really helped me out this time around. it would probably be a good idea to PM her about her plan. you may find that it will be helpful for you the next time you test. but the bottom line is, do NOT give up. i know it feels like the end of the world (trust me, i have been there) and the pressures of passing are on thick. i know the bills are adding up, student loan companies are mailing you every week, and feelings of inadequacy fill your mind up. but you have to be strong, persevere through the struggle, and be confident in yourself that you WILL pass next time. -J

question regarding failed NCLEX analysis
hello all, when looking at your NCLEX analysis after a failed result, does every section have to be above passing standard or can a candidate pass with some areas at near passing? i ask because i had 2 sections above passing standard, one below, and the rest at near passing.

questions regarding navy nurse corps
hello all, i have questions regarding joining the navy nurse corps. i graduated from a CCNE certified BSN program in san diego back in july. i have not received my RN license as of yet, but have interest in joining the navy nurse corps. does anyone know if my credentials are sufficient enough to be a candidate for the navy nurse corps? or would i have to gain my RN license prior to applying? any information about my situation would be helpful. thank you all in advance! jcruz

3rd time, no success
christina7997, you are not the only one. i know i shouldn't be comparing myself to others because i am me and they are them, but it hurts to see your peers/colleagues nailing it the 1st time around while others take it X amount of times. i am hoping that the program that suzanne has definitely will work this time around!

ABSN vs. BSN
if you have a choice, i would advise you to go the traditional route. i went through an accelerated program, and felt myself "rushed" through the whole experience. i had no choice, as doing the accelerated route was my last and only option. clinical hours are the same, as well as classroom time. however, you are doing a semesters worth of work in a matter of 6-8 weeks. i think the traditional route will allow you to soak in the information much better. it's like making bbq. you cook the bbq too fast and the meat comes out burned and tough. you cook the bbq slowly, and it comes out tender and juicy!

I am about to give up
blkbutterfly, if nursing truly is your passion, then do not give it up! keep pushing until you get in there. i will give you my testimony about the hardships i faced to get to nursing school: i attended san diego state university in hopes of getting into their nursing program. after completing prerequisites over a 3 year span, my grades were not good enough to compete with the 200 applicants fighting over 90 slots. it was one of the darkest moments in my life. i thought to myself that maybe nursing was not for me. however, i sat back and looked at my options: community college with a 6 semester wait, maric college (private college with an associates degree in nursing), or national university (private college with a BSN). i applied to all 3 schools, and immediately got an offer from maric college. however, 2 weeks later i got the acceptance form national university, and found myself jumping up for joy that i finally got into nursing school. so don't give up. it took me a total of 6 years to get into a nursing school, and i didn't give up because it was the one thing i really wanted to accomplish. the road is long, hard, cruel, and sometimes depressing, but if you keep hope, have faith in God, and really strive for what you want, you will achieve that which you truly desire!

3rd time, no success
after a grueling 3 week wait, i got the dreaded big envelope today. folks/peers/colleagues, please pray for me that i make it the 4th time around? i am going to give suzannes plan a try and hopefully i will become the RN i have always wanted to be. to anyone that has failed repeated times and has used suzannes plan and passed, how effective was it for you? i have tried NCSBN learning extension and kaplan previously. please give me insight as to how well it has worked for you because i would be really crushed if i put in the time and effort and not have it work for me. HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE! i really hope your holiday season was much more joyous than mine!

test scores..pass or....
i totally agree with you on that. i felt so confident in most of the questions, but at the same time, knew that i had a lot of them as "educated guesses". what's good for you though is that you took it yesterday and have hopes of your name showing up next week. i, on the other hand, have been waiting 8 working days already and my name has not shown up yet. IF you do have to take it over, how will you review this time around?

test scores..pass or....
NCLEX-RN taken: 1. july 6, 2007: 75-F 2. oct 9, 2007: 188-F 3. dec 11, 2007: 192-still waiting confidence really starts to dwindle down and keeping hope is somewhat hard, but we must keep on trying.

Preparing for NCLEXRN
i personally have gone through NCSBN learning extension the first time. didn't seem to help me out so much as i failed with 75 questions. second time around, i used the kaplan review. it broadened my knowledge base and got me up to 188 questions, but still no passing result. the third time around, i used the kaplan qbank/qtrainers, as well as lippincott's CD review as well as saunders CD review. still awaiting results. IF, and that is a big IF, i do not pass this third time, i am going to try suzanne4's nclex study method. good luck to you and my prayers are with you, as well as with all who stand up to face what might be the hardest test in our lives! happy holidays, and may you be strong enough to pass the 1st time!

I finally passed on my 4th try!!!
congratulations on passing! i know exactly how you feel. i took the exam for the third time on tuesday dec. 11. it's been 4 days and my name still hasn't shown up on the Ca board website. What makes it more frustrating is that a friend of mine took it the same day and his name already showed up. it is a bit comforting for me to know that your name showed up after a week. if i don't pass this time, i will try the program you listed on your post and hopefully that will help me pass (should i test out for a 4th time). again, congratulations on successfully completing what probably is the hardest test of your life!

My friend and I took the NCLEX the same day
Hello all, I have a question regarding NCLEX-RN test results. My friend and I took the California NCLEX on Dec. 11, and his name showed up on the BRN website while mine didn't. Is that a reliable sign that I didn't pass? would there be any reason why my friends name would show up before mine? would anyone please answer my questions? I am in distress right now, and can't think straight!!
