  1. What is the impact on one's family once classes begin?
  2. hi, yes i have made myself ineligible for pre-licensure admittance because of the failures. there is the rule that applies to my university....every university is different (bsn program). however, the community college (adn) i applied to does not care how many time a person takes a course!!!!! also, my university has an rn options program and an advanced placement option for lpns. so i can go through the backdoor, it will just take much longer...............thanks so much for the response .............
  3. :ohello to all.......i have been reading allnurses.com for about a year or so and finally got up the nerve to post. it became my desire to become a nurse when my son was born nine years ago (@28weeks). i felt like the nurses were his angels. his stay in nicu was a life/career changing experience for me. well for the past few years, i have attempted to make becoming a nurse a reality. my problem lies with getting into a nursing program. once i began my journey, i placed too much on my plate and failed a&p i (twice) but finally passed with a b. i have gone on to complete a&pii with an a. i have actually done really well in all of my other classes. well because of my failures, i have made myself ineligible for the nursing program at my univeristy and was encouraged to apply to a community college. i applied but was denied for the fall 2007 program but i will reapply for the fall 2008 program. well i thought i would be cleaver and apply to an additional community college...thinking i would maximize my options. sadly, i found out today that they only offer an lpn to rn bridge program. i have already submitted transcript requests to previous colleges as well as a nursing application to the college. i did all of this because someone in the nursing dept told me that i did not need to be an lpn to apply to their program..........i feel i wasted my time, money and energy. i'm about to give up and just complete a bachelor's in a field i'm not passionate about........................sorry so long......
