Agency Owners Out There?!
Hello, Everybody! I am trying to find healthcare agency owners and ask them about their software problems. I have been researching the healthcare software for a while and I would like to see what the problems and pains are with the software that is currently out there. I have a developer who is willing to hear me out and maybe we can help solve your problem(s). Thanks!

Biggest Issues Working For An Agency?
Hello everybody! I am interested to see what everyones biggest issues are with working for an agency. I've heard some good stories and a lot of bad. What's everyones experiences with working for an agency? What are the biggest pains or problems from working with them? How do you handle those pains and what would be the dream solution you would have for those?

Biggest Pain or Problem
FQHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center. Basically a health center that serves an underserved area or population and receives federal funding.

Biggest Pain or Problem
NurseSpeedy - What about these, only bad thing is that it takes a month to ship from China: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000991776361.html?spm=a2g0o.tm139952.5612828150.3.110f9e68D6yGHY&gps-id=seaZeus&scm=1007.25281.150765.0&scm_id=1007.25281.150765.0&scm-url=1007.25281.150765.0&pvid=ff63743e-28b4-4f0b-b687-0e67e882535c CommunityRNBSN - I remember seeing somewhere that most CEO's have narcissistic qualities so that is a possibility. The bad thing is, it's probably a little bit of both.

mmc51264 - I can definitely see that. Do you know where the nurses go, do they go to another department or nursing job or leave nursing altogether? CommunityRNBSN - That's crazy, do you think the management realizes this, or they just don't care? I wonder if the FQHC's are like that because it attracts that type of administration/management. Daisy4RN - I definitely agree with this. It is ridiculously obvious in all of healthcare that every decision is made because of money. When someone tries to come in to change the process, it doesn't work becuase of one of the many variables in healthcare. Insurance, management, administration, government all work together to ensure healthcare is a highly profitable industry. What do you think the solution to this problem would be? LOL. I've never heard that idiom before, after Googling I do remember it being on The Simpsons, though.

Biggest Pain or Problem
StillSearchingRN I know of nurses that mental health issues turn out to be a basis for managers firing just beacause they don't like the person, even in remission. It's sad how some places treat nurses (and even people). Maybe it was a blessing you left that circus of a hospital. Davey Do 1970 called, they want their idiom back (Yes, I had to Google it, so what). LibraNurse27 That's good that someone actually addresses it. From what I seen, a lot of places just treat the acute process and send them out. amoLucia I guess you could say that, more of a personal project, however.

Reputable Agencies
Thank you for that, I see what you mean. So the experience depends mostly upon the recruiter. Let me ask, what makes a good recruiter or a bad one? What qualities are best sought after when looking at agencies? Is it dependent upon the recruiter in whole or does the agencies policies also determine the level of satisfaction?

Reputable Agencies
I agree, but couldn't there be a fair mix with the two? The main purpose of business is to solve problems, I understand there are essentially two different parties with two different interests but there has to be a fair balance with that process that makes everyone happy.

WOW!, that is a doozy. You may have a lawsuit but it would be a battle. Has this abuse been an issue throughout your career?
-
Biggest Pain or Problem
That is definitely difficult to do, especially knowing that there isn't much you can do about it. Do you ever have time to discuss their addiction with them?
-
Biggest Pain or Problem
Could you elaborate more on the maltreatment? I think I know where you are coming from but just want to hear your experience.

Reputable Agencies
I'm curious as to why you say this? What makes them 'bad' and what would make them better? I'm asking just because I am interested in learning.

Biggest Pain or Problem
I am curious to see the various individual problems facing the profession. What has been everyone's biggest pains or problems recently or over the past year? Feel free to post aside from Covid or including Covid. This is a great place to vent, I will listen!

Business Brainstorm
The good thing about starting a business where there are reputable companies established, is that you know there is a market for this particular service/good. The negative aspect is that there is competition. You just have to make your business different or better in some way. Research what those companies are doing right and what they are doing wrong and work off of that. Most new businesses are not started from scratch but from working off of other ideas to make them better (e.g. Google, Facebook). I agree, nursing experience won't be as helpful but it is definitely not useless or impossible. I think that this idea would work, or even student housing for health professionals.

This isn't nursing related but I recently started working in real estate and although difficult at times, it's great. I currently rent out one home but am in the process of closing on another. Great supplemental income and if you choose the right tenants, it is fairly pain free. Also, if it is in a high demand area, you can get your mortgage paid for AND additional money.

Independent Nurse Assessor--more than one company?
I am contracted through an agency and the only thing I couldn't do is bypass that agency and work through directly with the hospital. I think I can't work there for a few months after leaving this agency. Check the contract, it will let you know what you can and can't do.

IV clinics for hangovers
I would think it is a post-binge treatment, unless maybe if you signed a waiver pre drinking? The treatment would work better if it was done before bedtime but as everyone said, the liability issues with drunks and medical treatment is too risky. I believe Vegas is a bit more lax on their laws, especially when it comes to alcohol. I have thought about this too but find it difficult to obtain any regulation information.

How to land an infection preventionist position
I did not get any of the positions I applied for. There were 2 or 3 I believe. They found internal applicants with similar experience as mine, which would be cheaper and easier to orient than a new applicant would. I have since then stopped applying since I was admitted into NP school.

simmons online fnp
From what I understood from the fin aid officer, there isn't much help in the form of scholarships and grants from Simmons. They gave me some links for opportunities but anyone know of any extra lesser known opportunities? From what I understand, other colleges don't help much with preceptor placement, I assume Simmons does? What else differs Simmons from other universities/colleges? Thanks for the help
