Computer SHUT OFF @ 76 QUESTIONS....is this significant???
unfortunately, it doesn't matter how many questions you get. you can pass or fail at 75 - 265 questions. its a computer adaptive test. when it knows that you will pass the examination at whatever # no matter what, that's when it will shut off. good luck.

Stopped at 75
good luck to you. i agree with nursegreeneyes, i would definitely not check your answers. i looked up one nclex question that i had right after i walked out and realized i picked all the wrong ones (it was a multiple answer question). bottom line, it only makes your stomach turn and absolutely no point to do that. you usually remember the questions that you had difficulty with because you didn't know the answer. also, who knows, those questions could have been higher level questions or the 15 questions that are not counted toward your exam. i passed and stopped at 75 and you can too! :wink2:

Drum Roll please....
i should also mention that i had 75 questions on the nclex. i wanted to post that in my results post, but i guess it escaped me due to the excitement. i found the exam challenging, but walked out of there feeling okay.... i knew i could pass it & i did. good luck to all who are awaiting results and/or are taking the exam!

For 85% Pass Rate There Sure Are Alot on Here Who Have Failed
just recently i saw a lot of people who failed as well, but they may only think they failed, or they find this board after they failed through googling. also, i truly believe in a positive attitude and you can't psyche yourself out for the nclex. in reality, it is only a test that you can take again. i know that noone wants to hear this, but it's truth. on the other hand, i do realize that noone wants to repeat the test and everyone wants to pass because this is the beginning of the career as a nurse. just to let you know, i passed this week... and that's why i put up a post. i usually don't post that often because i don't have that much free time to check the forum, but during my last couple days before my nclex, i was constantly checking and seeing posts "i failed." it kinda freaked me out and i said, i'm not going back on there to see that before my test, but i will post good news so people can restore faith in themselves... even for those who have to retake the exam. i think everyone has the power to pass the exam, but #1 is confidence. without that, you won't critically think. good luck to those of you who have to take/retake the nclex. i believe...

I Am Soo Upset-please Advise
believe me when i say i know where you're coming from... i felt sick awaiting for my results. time couldn't pass fast enough. your mind starts playing tricks on you and you wonder if its possible you failed when you went in thinking you have this in the bag. keep yourself occupied, distract yourself seriously. go take a walk, exercise, watch a movie, meet with friends, work, anything. have faith in yourself. waiting for your positive results... :)

265 and FAILED!!
i'm sorry to hear your news, but i think that you are already on your way with having a positive attitude and getting yourself ready for the challenge again. from this forum, i have heard a lot of people had success using suzanne's plan. the most important thing i think is to definitely look up the topics that you do not understand right away. do not procrastinate and say you'll look it up later. if the kaplan book did not have enough information since their review is brief and intended for review, try using saunders or an alternate source. please don't get discouraged! believe in yourself and good luck. i hope to hear in around 45 days that you passed!

Finally, I passed
congratulations!

75 Questions and now the waiting begins...
nursegreeneyes,:nuke: good luck in your waiting time for your results! does your state post them or are you waiting for quick results from pearson vue? i'm waiting for your post that says "i'm an rn!"

I'm doing Kaplan Complete RN, but have a QUESTION
Thanks for the advice. I just wanted to use my study time that I have left in the most efficient way possible. Good luck on your exam as well. I'm ready for the test, but I know waiting for the results is going to drive me crazy! We're PASSING!

I'm doing Kaplan Complete RN, but have a QUESTION
Have any of you taken the sample tests 1-3 on kaplan's qbank page? If so, are these the same items that appear in the Qbank or different questions? I'm trying to plan my studying accordingly. I have 20 qbank questions left and qt7.
-
Kaplan review
I haven't taken the NCLEX yet, but your Qbank average is the 65% and I think they say 60-65% for that. You can't base your decision on one single test... I know they want you to to do well on QT6 and QT7. Have confidence in yourself! You can do it!

Starting nursing school/career and have ?'s
Just a thought: A lot of schools have 2nd degree accelerated bachelors degree program that one can complete in about a year (give or take a couple months). If she has a bachelors degree already, this might be something to look into. They are very challenging programs because the course work is crammed into a shorter time, but it was a great option for me.

New NICU RN here!

Resume or online application
Unfortunately, I am seeing on a lot of their websites that they do not accept walk-in applications! One place says you can only call to check the status of your application. Also, I am curious... should I or can I apply for jobs that have a minimum of ___ year(s) experience required? Thank you again for your comments/suggestions :)
