hello everyone. i'm slated to take my nclex on january in the pearson vue center in makati. i understand that the only acceptable means of identification is the passport. also, according to the 2008 nclex bulletin " all identification must be calid (not expired) with signature and photograph. all identification must be in english and signed in english". my passport issued by the dfa does not have any space for signature. there's no line alloted for signature and the words "bearer's signature" under it. so my question is, will the pearson center honor my passport even if it has no signature? would you advise that i just place my signature there anyway? has anybody ever taken the exam using a passport without a signature? thank you very much.

Hi again yoo jin! Regarding that really nice offer, could it be that you're referring to the chance to work as a staff nurse in SLMC-GC? Could it be that you're already hired and would start training already? I also applied and already underwent the medical exam. Hello yoojin! Thanks so much for giving attention to my queries. Um, I don't mean to be intrusive but may I know why you quit your job? How long did you work as ancillary? Is there any way that you could shift from ancillary to staff nursing? How was the compensation? Is it comparable to staff nurses? Actually, the compensation is further on the list of my prorities because what's more important for me now is to get a job somewhere not too far from home. And lastly, if SLMC-QC hires you back as ancillary, would you go for it? Or would you rather wait for the chance to be a staff nurse in Taguig even if the hospital won't open till late next year? I'm sorry that I'm asking too many questions. I'm at the point of my life where I'm just sooo confused about what to do and which path to pursue. I don't want to make a bad decision. The nature of your job sounds really good to me, though of course, I prefer to be a bedside nurse. But that's not possible right now so I'm looking at ancillary jobs. The Philippine Heart Center in QC offers Basic Life Support trainings through CCNAPI. THey have a list of their seminars and trainings in their website. That's where I got my info. Hope this helps. :)

The last time I went to the HR, they posted something that directs interested nurse applicants to the Dept of Clinical Advancement. I already did that months ago.

Yeah, that's how things work at present. You won't be entertained by the HR. That's what also happened when I went there some months ago before I even knew of the opening for SLMC-GC. I really prefer working in QC because Taguig is just so far from home. So I was hoping that I could get in.

hi Yoo jin, I'm also interested i being a part of the St. Luke's Medical Center even if it's just ancillary. So we'll just go straight to the HR right? I tried submitting my credentials in the Dept. for Clinical Advancement but still no call from them so I'm gonna try being in ancillary. Thanks for the info!

Since the new application forms have been launched last Feb8, would my application still be valid? Or would they return it to me because I need to mail the new application form? * worried to death* *on the verge of tears*

Hello! I've decided to switch to NM for my initial licensure instead of California. I have this one question: Where can I have the AUTHORIZATION FOR RELEASE OF INFORMATION form notarized? Can I have it done in the City Hall or inside PRC? I've read from the 1st few pages of this thread (Yep, I've read all 81 pages) that it may be done in local notary. However, a later post said that it has to be done in US embassy. So where can I have it notarized? I hope people who have been made eligible already can share some info. Thank you very much!

hello! i have given this a looooot of thought and have finally decided to pursue licensure in california. i've been discouraged a lot of times from what i have read in this thread but i'm just going to hope against hope that things would probably turn out well in the end. oh well, on to my questions. i am almost through preparing the paperworks for the application. 1. regarding the application for licensure for examination form: a. if i indicate an email address, all correspondence from cabrn would just be through email right? and i would no longer receive any snail mail. b. in the type of program box, i just have to tick baccalaureate degree right? would i have to write down something under the entrance date and graduation date? i'm a bit confused because there is no blank line on level with it but the blank line is on level with masters degree/nursing box. c. for the california non-graduates box, do i have to fill it up? i'm educated outside of the us so do i need to accomplish it? 2. regarding the fingerprint card (hard card), what do i put in race? can i put asian? 3. and most importantly, i'm confused about the fees. a. if i pay using credit card, what type of card can i use (visa, mastercard etc)? how do i got about it? b. how much would i exactly pay? i'm confused because what's written in the forms is $107 for method 2 using the hard card application process. that's for 1 fingerprint card only. so if i enclose 2 fingerprint card along with my forms do i need to pay extra $32? (application=$75 + 2 fingerprint cards=$32+$32) making it $139? c. in this link from the ca brn website (http://www.rn.ca.gov/about_us/fees.shtml#apps), the registered nurse examination application fee=$75. but the manual fingerprint card (doj only) is $32 and the manual fingerprint cards (doj and fbi) is $51. so how much do i really have to pay?? i'm totally at lost here so i hope someone could help me out. thank you all so very much.

Hello Ms Suzanne4 and Silverdragon and all the other forumers. Again, I would like to thank you for SO PATIENTLY answering all the questions. I know you already know this but you have tremendously helped a lot of people here. I hope you don't get tired of answering all our queries. Anyway, on to my question. Some things are still unclear to. 1.) I have read in recent posts in this thread that it didn't take them long (6 months or so) to be able to sit for the CA NCLEX. First I planned to apply for Licensure by Examnation to other states and then just endorse to California because it was mentioned that CA is easy to endorse to. But since Ca now purportedly releases eligibility and ATTs sooner, I'm deciding to go ahead and apply for Ca NCLEX. Is CA really not difficult to endorse to? 2.) Say, I pass the NCLEX in Vermont or New Mexico, would it be easy to endorse to California? OR would California still require SSN before I could legally work there (provided that I already have a VisaScreen Certificate which I intend to process after passing the NCLEX in Vermont or New Mexico) ? Here's how I plan to go about this. 1. Apply and sit for Vermont or New Mexico NCLEX. 2. After passing, pass TOEFL (TOEFL is the one needed in California right? ) 3. Simultaneously process my VisaScreen application. 4. After passing the TOEFL, and getting my VisaScreen, endorse to California ( I don't need to be in the States to endorse right? I mean I can all do this back home and then just fly to the US when everything's settled). Would my plan work? Please enlighten me on this. I know I'm missing something here, most especially the SSN issue. Thank you very much!
