  1. hi guys. I'm from NY and will be starting at VCU this fall. I will be paying as an out-of-state resident and I'm really hoping that I could pay for tuition, extra living expenses and everything else with just my Stafford and Graduate Loan Plus (both federal). I hope I won't have to apply for a private loan, but in case I really have to then there is really nothing i can do. as they say, it will all be worth it in the end. goodluck to all!
  2. hahahahahaha i don't know what you meant by bati? are you sure you got the word right?
  3. yeah totally... you don't have to re-take it. I just got a 340 on the verbal (english is not my first language) and 650 on the math. since im a foreign grad i needed to take the TEOFL too and got a 108/120. but hey I got in... VCU fall 08! yipeeeee! If i can do it, you definitely can do it! goodluck!
  4. ei guys... im filipino accepted at VCU this fall 08! nervous of course since im moving from metropolitan new york to virginia. but I have high hopes and am really confident that i will have a blast with my classmates and faculty. good luck to all!
  5. not im my case guys... all my co-nurses were so happy for me... they cheered and wished me well. i didn't get any ill feelings.. it was cool. maybe really depends where and who you work with... VCU fall 08 here i come!!!
  6. Ei guys! GPA: 3.04, GRE: 990, Heart: 101%. Got a call today from VCU and i'm accepted for the Fall 08 class!!! yipeee!!! i'm on a high baby! see you around classmates!
  7. Ei guys! i got a call from VCU today and i'm accepted for the fall 08 class! im so high, almost could not believe it... it still has to sink in. Hi dignout, do you know if I could rent at VCU's dormitory? since we're still considered students is it possible? wow i'm so excited to meet all of you guys! classmates! yipeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
  8. Hey guys... I didn't make the cut, they put me on the waiting list or alternate list or whatever they call it. They said they'd call me in case some applicants reject their acceptance slot, which I highly doubt. it took me 48 hours to get over it, but im ok. I know I placed my best foot forward on this, considering too that I came all the way from the Philippines just for this. It was really a hard and long journey for me, figuratively and literally. But I have plans already. I'm taking up some graduate physiology classes next year and the online chem prep course. I may also have to re-take the GRE cuz i really messed up on the english part, but scored really high on the math. I may also want to take the CSC exam, I already have my CCRN-CMC. hope is not lost, all in the lord's good time. hope to meet you guys soon! wish me luck and congratulations to you all.
  9. ei im so happy for the both of you! hope I can make it too! wish me luck...
  10. Hey kayla! i have an interview on the 6th at VCU! goodluck to the both of us! hey EMRNCRNA did they ask you any clinical questions? good for you your done, goodluck to you!
  11. im 26 male, RN-BSN, CCRN-CMC. scheduled for interivew at VCU next month. wish me luck! well its never too late. a dream is a dream!
  12. hey wasup! yep applied at columbia too. they just emailed me and said that they sent my application to the anesthesia dept and will contact me if deemed necessary for an interview. so far thats all. have you applied to other schools? I applied at VCU and have an interview date next month... im extremely anxious since I have never been in a panel interview in my life. chances are slim but what the heck.
  13. hi there guys! congratulations for those who made it to anesthesia school. im 26 yrs old, earned my bsn in the philippines, have a gpa of 3.04, and a graduate gpa of 4.0 in advanced pathophysiology (3 credits). i don't have a solid gre since i messed up pretty bad on the english part (english is not my 1st language) but did great on the math portion. my toefl scores did some justice though 108/120. i have a 6 month pacu and a solid 2 year micu/ccu experience, and i also was a volunteer er nurse for a month before everything else. most of all i've earned my ccrn-cmc titles under my belt in just my 2 years of critical care. i applied to vcu (virginiacommonwealthuniversity) and they called me for an interview next month, dec 6, 2007. i'm much humbled because i really did not expect to be even called for an interview given my gre and gpa scores. i am very anxious, i don't know what to expect. i don't know if i have a shot at this but what the heck if it's my time then it's my time. if there is anyone there from vcu who could give me advice or anyone who could give me some tips on the interview i would gladly appreciate it. one more thing... what did you guys say when they asked about your weaknesses? good luck to all of us!
  14. for the CCRN some questions were basic ICU and some were advanced ICU. but for the CMC most of it were advanced cardiac medicine questions. I passed the CMC by just 1 pt!
  15. Hi there burnt2! i'm happy you made it to anesthesia school, hoping to be like you someday. Im 26 yrs old, have a GPA of 3.04, and a graduate GPA of 4.0 in advanced pathophysiology (3 credits). I'm much humbled but very very anxious, i don't know what to expect. given my credentials do you have any idea what kind of questions they would ask me? are they gonna ask me questions on hemodynamics? vent functions? i would gladly appreciate any advice you could give me... thank you in advance.
