  1. sorry to break it to u guys but a cna does what a rn is suppose to do...i know some rn's who help out a whole lot and some well they claim they were a cna but they can't help with a single pull up..u see nursing is teamwork...usually an rn who was once a cna will respect the cna more than the rn or lvn..the thing is nursing is patient care if the patient needs to be changed does the r n wait for a cna to come along?what if that cna was on break? that's right rn's it is now ur job to do ur required duty and stop complaining about it
  2. well in cali cna's can make like 20 bucks that was with sub acute experience..my co worker was a cna for about a year with sub acute and she got offered a job with the ucla medical center or hospital making 20 bucks..so yeah it's possible but it depends where u work and the type of experience.. get some sub acute experience u will get paid more..
  3. the ones that are in the cna field for a long time usually really hate their job
  4. i think i will buy that book because my red cross test will be in december and i plan to only take it once ..if i'm spending 90 bucks for a test i better pass it!
  5. thanks a whole bunch!
  6. at where i work at i asked another cna about how long she has worked there and she replied 9 years..i told her i was new to the whole cna thing and she told me how come i don't aim for lvn..i told her i wanted to try cna for a year or two then pursue the lvn thing..then she told me that i should better myself by going for lvn or rn...alot of cna's don't like their job
  7. i'm almost done with my cna training and when i tell people that i'm going for the cna they look down on it and say that i'm on the bottom rank .people always assume that i just clean poop all day nothing more nothing less.If cna are so vital to the team then why are we paid so little compared to a vn or rn?:uhoh3:
  8. that is way low are u serious 1.65 an hour..
  9. private school are more expensive than a cc .i don't know if it's easier to get in or what
  10. what is the average cost of a lvn school at a private place? i heard it was like 20,000 or so..shud i just go to a city college and get my lvn?
  11. i'm taking one of those cna courses at a nursing facility where u earn while u learn stuff and i'm learning alot...plus the school is free the only thing i had to pay for was my uniform which was 12 dollars my own stethoscope ..i will be taking my certification in december
  12. congrats soon i will pass...hopefully
