  1. well, it was true for me and my classmates that tried it whether they passed or failed..i took the test on friday 4/3/09 and tried it when I got home and it blocked me from rescheduling..I tried it until yesterday morning and still was unable to reregister.. This was my confirmation of what I already knew so I was basically just waiting to see my results in writing. I checked my quick results when they were ready and saw that I had passed!!! i'm so thankful for this site because it has helped me so much to get through this journey :[anb]:
  2. Thanks ya'll and congrats valkyrispice !! I just wanted to let everyone know that I found out today that I PASSED!!! :dncgcpd:..this whole testing process has been such an awesome experience and I'm soooo glad it's over. I know this may sound weird but when I left I knew i had passed because I had so much faith. I never once felt like I failed and out of 85 questions I had at least 20 SATA which i can't stand, ton of meds(my weakest area), majority priority, and 1 dosage calc...I was so intimidated by that test at the beginning of this journey that I never thought I'd take it, but then I realized that I had made it through nursing school and couldn't let this stand in my way of what I had come so far for and that was to become a nurse. I conquered that fear recently through faith and lots of prayer and got through it. I know i wouldn't have made it without God's help. Also, I didn't study much or over do it and when I felt ready for it I went for it..If I can do it so can all of you:nuke: :prdnrs:
  3. I just took the exam yesterday and stopped at 85 questions!! the wait is excrutiating but i have a good feeling. i should know for sure tomorrow and i'll let everyone know how i did:)

  7. Hi!! I am a recent PN graduate getting ready to take the NCLEX soon. I'm studying the Kaplan strategy book along with Saunders cd. Just want positive feedback to help bring down the stress level of taking this exam. Any success stories with passing on the first try less than 6 weeks out of school would be great:D I really don't want to have to take this exam again and I really just need some encouragement and hearing good news of others who have gotten through this..thanks
  8. you are so welcome butterfliesnroses..and thank you, glad i could help:nuke:
  9. I probably should've never came into this post b/c it is such a touchy subject for everyone, but since i'm here i'll give my . First of all, everybody need to just chill and realize that we all are working for the same goal and that is the take care of the patient. Also, nurses and certified nurses assistants should be completely aware of what their jobs intales and what it doesn't. Nurse aides should be aware of what the nurse has to do and what their job is in assisting their nurses. Also, when the nurse is not tied up doing their job as a licensed nurse (things that the CNA cannot do because it is out of their scope of practice), then the nurse can do the other part of their job such as ADL's and answering call lights and everything like that if the CNA has their hands full. Ultimately, the point is, nurses can do the CNA's job but CNA's can't do the nurse's job(without going out of their scope and risking losing the certification). So, priority for the nurse is her responsibilities as getting her job done first. Also, CNA's should be given the proper respect and treated as the vital part of health care team that they are..but never "foot kissed" for doing what they're getting paid to do. I am a nursing student, i have worked as a CNA, and I have done CNA work combined with nursing duties. This has taught me that we all need each other and that the nurses job would be doable without the CNA but much harder for me. Also, CNA's working alone without the nurses are next to impossible. Hope this puts it into perspective for someone.
  10. When I pass the NCLEX-PN I will refer to myself as being a nurse because by law I would have earned that right in it's entirety. I am in a practical nursing program to become a licensed practical nurse therefore I am in nursing school. The only people that it would be confusing to is the people that don't have much knowledge about LPN programs and don't realize that it's real nursing school and it's hard just like an ADN program would be it's just shorter. Either way a practical nursing license is still a nursing license and it gives any LPN the right to be called a nurse just like anyone who has earned a PhD can be called doctor whether it confuses people or not. Anyway, I will become an RN someday after I finish my program. It was my first choice, but I just despise it when people don't know how hard LPN school is and what an accomplishment it is to graduate from the program and to earn a nursing license and they try discredit LPNs for not being RNs. To all the LPN students and LPNs out there be proud of your accomplishments and never be ashamed of what you chose to become. So an LPN, RN, BSN, MSN, or PhD a nurse is a nurse no matter what level it is.:wink2:
  11. i'll be 21 when i graduate next year
  12. My class just practiced bed bathing(weren't naked) on each other today. We do vital signs, and we will be doing injections on each other later on in the program. I think it's a great learning experience to flip the script and put ourselves in the patient's shoes.
