  1. I believe that mandatory pain management of infants being circumcised should become a law and that doctor who don't use pain relief be banned from practicing medicine. I hate that we go totally out of the way to be sure adults are comfortable which itself is great but little consideration is given to babies which totally disgusts me. What the conscious mind does not remember the subconscious never forgets.
  2. I am not trying to argue here but circs should never be performed without pain medication. That is very unethical and unless you were a witness to their circs you should not believe what the nurse told you. Some nurses have admitted they have to been instructed to lie about the baby's reaction to circs and if your sons received no pain medication I bet it was very painful. Please be sure in the future if you have any more sons that they get pain medication just like you would not let someone perform a procedure on you without pain medication.
  3. This I know from life experiences. People who belittle others are actually insecure about themselves. Whether they hold big positions or not so big positions means nothing.
  4. It serves the same function as your clitoral hood and is actually the same thing. If for any reason you ever have council parents about the procedure it will be your responsibility to give the actual facts and not your personal opinion which is far from fact as well as inconsistant with the current AAP and AMA stance.
  5. I oppose circs but if they are done it should be with as much pain control as possible that does not harm. Babies have been victums of all kinds of torture procedures based on the retarded belief they do not feel pain
  6. I occasionally attend NDE support groups in the Ft Lauderdale area and the stories are very interesting. I believe they are real journies and bring hope for everyone.
  7. I did not go into detail in my OP but in the one of the hospitals a mother was constantly harassed by the staff about her decision not to circ. In fact they even brought in a whole team of nurses and docs to try and convince her. When she asked about anathesia they told her that they do not use it because the babies do not feel it. They never even gave her a reason to do it so I believe there were money motivations for the doc. Not only was she harassed they also mixed up her baby's chart with another baby that had something wrong with him and they told the mother there was something wrong with her baby not realizing the screw up. There was a young teenager the next room who gave birth to a boy. When the nurse asked her if she wanted her son circed the girl did not even know what circ was. All the nurse told her it was a routine procedure they do there and that it is better if he is circed. No informed consent at all. The other mother that I spoke of heard the whole conversation. To me that is malpractice and unethical.
  8. I just recently found out that some doctors and nurses are still putting pressure on parents who choose not to circumcise their sons. This seems to happen in some midwest hospitals. One was in Lima, Ohio and another was in Milwaukee,WI. I was thought parents were supposed to get unbiased info and not be pressured either way. How is it in the hospitals you work in?
