At last! I found someone on the same hospital assignment as I am. Let's keep each other posted, I'll be following up my application on Friday. Hope we can all fly by July.

Is your friend bound for ASSIR under MOH or HOP?

Cedula is different from Professional Tax. Professional Tax Receipt or PTR is basically a fee professionals pay at the start of the year. While cedula can be paid even in our barangays, the PTR can only be paid in your local city hall. Nurses should start paying their Professional Tax once they receive their license. If you fail to pay on the previous years, they'll charge you a penalty.

In our unit, we normally use 1 bag in priming re-use dialyzers. We use 2 bags for new dialyzers. We've already encountered the first use syndrome in our unit. Type A not to mention. The first incident in this certain patient...he was on a new F8 dialyzer, as fast as 14 minutes the patient became hypotensive, experienced chest heaviness and had red conjunctiva. They thought (it wasn't on my shift yet) the patient would go to an arrest. Second attempt, the NOD ordered the same dialyzer to be flushed and to use it again. Still, within 10 minutes the patient exhibited the same symptoms. Third attempt, the NOD ordered to use F6 dialyzer using 3 bags of NS for priming. As fast as 4 minutes, the patient exhibited the same symptoms again. Last attempt (on my shift), the NOD ordered to use the F8HFS dialyzer primed with 3 bags NS; the patient was able to finish his dialysis. All in all, 3 vials of Solu-Cortef (Hydrocortisone) and 1 amp of Benadryl was given. Patient's Hgb level dropped to 12 from 17.7 (heck, we couldn't believe his Hgb reached that high)

@opsen, felicitypaul & enigmagurl those two hospitals are not yet operational. the one near sm fairview is still currently under construction. i pass by it every day; the structure is basically still the skeleton framework. i'm not yet sure of the exact address. but it's literally almost right beside sm fairview. you can't miss it. the second hospital, there's no structure yet. the government just recently approved the building of the hospital. so, it'll take much much longer. but for sure, they'll be looking for nurses with experiences in dialysis (hemo and peritoneal).

Yeah. MOH comes first. I feel like crying already. If I knew it was gonna take longer than 1 month for deplyoment, I would've deferred my resignation. Thank God our Admin allowed me to extend my work there 'til I get my visa.

Uhh....this info might not be that helpful but.. Watch out for the opening of a new hospital near SM Fairview (Commonwealth Hospital and Medical Center). It's still under construction though. They say it's Henry Sy owns it. And another new hospital (special tertiary) will soon rise on site along Quezon Ave. It'll probably specialize on kidney diseases. And I know the owner. :))

@CranberryJuice - hehe...I'll let you in my secret. You don't ask the staff in the evaluation counter. They really will just snub you and tell you to wait for their text, that's because they really don't know the status of the applications. Ask the Arabs, they know.

@CranberryJuice - Sorry. No info regarding the other hospitals. It was my former colleague (she's in KSA already) who tipped me to follow-up my application from time to time because the people in SRO might overlook texting you due to the large bulk of applications. Guess what? Yesterday, I even met someone from the Dec2009 batch who hasn't been deployed yet. She just got to follow-up her application yesterday. She's from Mindanao,I guess.

I heard that Fatima Valenzuela really hires reviewers from reputable review centers to teach during review classes. Just heard that info, correct me if I'm wrong. With my experience in Fatima QC, the reviewers for 1st phase of review were our own professors since Ana&Physio. Then for the 2nd phase (Intensive Review?), they still utilized the very same professors. Talk about reuse, reduce(the pay), recycle.

I just learned that it's mostly nurses under MOH who are deployed quickly. I went to SRO a while ago to follow up my application, only to know that most nurses under MOH only had to wait for about 2-3 weeks for their pre-departure slip. Info re: nurses bound for King Abdullah Hospital-Bisha : waiting for visa. *sigh*

Hi. I had my final evaluation last April 19. I am also under HOP at King Abdullah Hospital - Bisha. It's been 3 weeks already and SRO has not notified me as well. I hope they notify us ASAP. I already resigned from my work and next week will be my last week there.

Count me in guys. I'm also waiting for SRO to text me for the departure slip. Do you have any idea how long it usually takes before they notify you? It's been 3 weeks for me. I'm getting anxious already. ------------------------------ @shadowmaster455 - MOH does not hire male nurses anymore because of what they call 'Saudization'. Better try your luck in applying through agencies, though I'm not sure if they still accept nurses with no experience. And be careful of agencies who try to offer you falsified employment certificates. There are many agencies like that these days.

Why don't you try inquiring in POEA. I heard from my friend that her classmate was already deployed to somewhere in UAE without any experience at all.

I heard that US dialysis nurses have it easy than Philippine dialysis nurses. Is it true? Here in the Philippines (at least in the dialysis clinic where I work), we do almost everything. We prime the dialyzer and bloodlines, ready the machine, cannulate accesses, initiate treatment, cleanse and dress permcaths and temp caths, monitor the pt., secure blood works, terminate treatment, etc.
