Hartford Hospital vs St. Francis Hospital
That is absolutly not true!! My residency was 6 months long as a new grad!! It was amazing and very supportive! After a year I switched to a critical care area and I had another 3 month orientation with a resource after that! This hospital is very supportive and you will always feel supported by other nurses!! Good luck

Ever Killed Someone?
I am with you and have often thought about this question. The other nurses that don't like you asking this question have probably killed someone themselves....The reality is that we do have lives in our hands and it is a possiblety for us to indirectly harm someone. I would like to believe I have always done what is best for my patient with my knowledge and skill! Thanks for the question!

Hartford Hospital vs St. Francis Hospital
I just started St. Francis new grad residency program and love it. They have been wonderful in every aspect and they have many new changes coming!! I worked at Hartford Hospital as CNA and I hated it. Everyone was mean and miserable all over the hospital. Go with st.frani!!! Good luck!!

Tips for nurses in their first year of nursing
Hello everybody!! I just started my first job as a new grad!! I am looking for a shift report sheet of sorts. I would like something I can take report on and also be able to jot down events, labs, procedures etc... that happen through out the day. If anybody has any useful sheets please share so that I may also share with my other nurse residence. Thanks everybody!!

Soooo, you're observing in the Operating Room (O.R.)...
Hi everybody! I did my OR day last friday and I thought it was wonderful! I picked the last day that was availble so it was a wonderful break from clinical. Everybody was pleaseant and helpful. I did notice that they made fun of the patient while they were under. All my peers said the same thing. Is it me or is there just something wrong with this? Anyway, relax, enjoy the break from the floor and learn something!!
