my friend did not get any particulat training except hospital orientation. she work fulltime in NICU and had 6 months hospital training for that.

I think Red Rock is part of Montevista too. One of my friend got job over there per diem with 0 year exp.

yes the time limit freaked me out too, 33 questions in 60 minutes, come on and on the top of it the class test we are having so hard, if you will look in the NCLEX book and compare it to our class test, the nclex is easy. i dont know what is the deal why they are making so harder and we have only 2months in this semester. i really dont understand why hospitals are interfering in college business. i hope your friend can transfer credits to other college. i really understand how frustrated it is.

you dont have to worry. if you will get the math problems before test and i think as we did you will do that in lab for practice and ofcorse by yourself, u will pass. trust me we got practice problems before test, it was worth to practice them because test was exactly same as of them, i mean same kind of questions we got in test. so bottom line your instructors will tell you in front what to do, and math test portion is in every class's syllabus so u will get it. .

Oh ya that is true i am in 4th semester at CSN and 15 students were kicked out of program. We had math review class before the beginning of semester. They got 3 chances not two one was friday after the first test which was on Wed. CSN has strict policy to clear the math test and everybody knew that and it is like this:::: if anybody will fail math test in 1st semester they are out of program so they need to reapply. In 2nd, 3rd, and 4th semester you can just sign up back for next semester unless u didnt withdrawn before. i figured out this semester had hardest math test, but instructors were nice so we got 3 chances otherwise u can get only 2 chances. and after first math test instructors spent lots of time with students just to teach math. I think students went to instructors' offices there was no particular math class (after 1st test) so it was one to one appointmnet and that is nice. i attended math review class and only 15 students showed up.

I am agree with the previous post. The deal is some states doesn not allow you to practice these are only 1-2 states so no big deal. otherwise u can work anywhere in USA with degree from Touro. i am thinking to go there for RN-BSN after i will complete ADN.

Hi, If you are going to Touro or USN then you can consider Henderson because these two universities are in Henderson. If you are looking for good schools and 0 crime area than i will never suggest you to move to north. if you are planning to go to CSN , consider southwest part of the valley and summerlin. Summerlin is bit expensive, i found my place on craigslist.com, you can always negotiate for the rent. if you need any help let us know we all are here and if you want pm me. You dont know how scared i am, i have to find a job in order to support my family, i am in las semester and on the top off it NO Cna Or Nap expierence. Hi, I am going to graduate in Dec 2008 and i have a question. if i will get hired by any hospital (if i will be lucky), are they going to ask me to sign one or two year contract, i know UMC want a two years contract from new grads. is any hospital in Las Vegas where i dont have to sign any contract. thax

Hi, the only difference i know between these two is, Sunrise is a busy hospital as compared to Summerlin. Summerlin hospital is in good area. I have a question, are these hospitals asking you to sign any contract like two year or one year. yes tccjknv is right u can take the two weeks class, plus you are going to learn in nursing lab that how to calculate math problems. you will be fine.

in the last semester in order to put pressure of time there will be almost 35 problems to solve in one hour. As compare to other semesters first semester math test was so easy just like math 100B. i found some students just have the anxiety toward math test. so stay calm u will make it in first chance. best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!

does US ADN degree make eligible for canada immigration with minimum or no expierence.

I am planning to apply for Canada after finishing my ADN in dec 2008, so is it possible or nor w/t any expierence and ADN degree.

I am glad to hear that you are B.Sc nursing, sorry i totally forget that there are another programs too except GNM.That will make major difference as compare to GNM program, u have 100% chances to clear NCLEX. The only thing we can do right now is wait, other option is H1C visa, but it is limited to 500nurses/ year. if u will search on this forum u can find more info about H1C visa. I think if u have work expierence u should try. i hope the retrogression gets over soon and we will get jobs. Best of Luck

Yes she is 100% right. dont take the class instructor for lab or clinical. ya i remember first day of mental health class i had my name badge on and i went to class late, my class instructor told me to remove it.i dont know why in first semseter class instructors were so rude and mean. it is ok time will pass. best of luck and the only thing matter is how hard you work to get thru this hard phase.

I read the nursing bill 100 times but did not get answer for one answer. If visas will be available can we apply, get EAD and wait for GC.? i am not saying international students has any priority, but can we apply or do we have to leave the country and wait for backlog clearance.
