I am a licenced RN in Nevada, but graduated and got my RN originally in July 2008 IN Cleveland OH.. Metro would be my first choice hands down. Esp if you want ER. One of my friends has been an ER nurse their for 8 years (started L & D) and LOVES IT. Another recent RN grad with me went to Ortho their and loves it. TAKE IT FROM ME- I work for a for profit hospital in Nevada and it is nothing like Cleveland. I wish I was still their. Metro will give you a great diversity with up to date technology. Training from what I hear for new grads is top notch. I'd look in to it . Good Luck!

I don't know what the ATI predictor is, but if it is similar to the HESI I got a 73% on it, and passed the Nclex with 75 questions. You have time to study . Get the Kaplan Nclex review. Do atleast 50 questions a day and read the rationales for each topic of questions. I took a review class, and doing questions every nite really helped. Also read the beginning on HOW TO answer the questions. Get a good nite sleep and remember that it is not a race to the finish(I felt like that in nursing school, 1 minute per question). Eliminate what the answer can't be. Good Luck- You'll do just fine. B:up:

No contract for Valley Hopspitals. They do have a retension bonus of $2200 over 2 years right nowfor new grads. $375 after 90 days, $800 for 1 year, and $1125 after 2 years. I'm not sure of Sunrise- I'm going there Tuesday. I'll let you know.

Hi there everyone.I am a new grad who recently moved here to Las Vegas and very happy to be here. For the past month I have been applying everywhere and getting no responses from HR. I have read up on how tough it is to get a job here without being from here and the time of year it is. I had recently posted the thread on Summerlin since I really don't know too much of the hospitals of this area. I did get an offer from them at the women's center doing med-surge. Not my ideal choice, but as a new grad and very little prospects it doesn't look so bad. Anyhow, I get a call from Sunrise HR to call them back for a med-surge position. I've read previous threads on Sunrise too. 2 very different hospitals , and for being recently relocated here any advise is well appreciated, Thanks!

Hi! I took the Nclex in July 2008 and passed w/75Q. My advise is that I really believe that taking a Nclex class really helps. My class was 8 sessions of 3 hours of studying various topics and answering questions. My teacher prepared us on how to tackle the questions which is similar to the Kaplan & Mosby's book-which were also great study tools. Practice questions everyday and read the rationals. We had to do like 300 before the next class which was 2 days later. Other than that, get a good night sleep and remember- it's not a race. Take your time and eliminate what the answer can't be. Hi! I have recently took my Nclex in July. I ended up taking a Nclex review prior to taking my test. My advice is to see if there is a Nclex review course available to you. My school recommended one as well as my nursing friends. She was expensive, but good. I passed with 75 questions. She teaches you how to answer Nxclex questions. Mosby and Kaplan books are excellent review sources. Also- check with your state licencure about your status once you retake it. I was able to see my RN # 2 days after the test. Plus if it's thru Pearson, you can pay like $10 and get your results immediately. Good luck to you! PS- you're a saint for waiting so long for your results ! 2 days was plenty long for me!

I can totally relate to this subject. I am a recent graduate who took my nclex in July. I did relocate to Las Vegas from Cleveland. My boyfriend is a chef, and he has had no problems with a job. I have a temp rn licence while I'm waiting for my Ohio RN licence to endorse. I am also BLS certified and ready to go. We moved here August 4th, and I have been looking for a job everywhere. I have already committed to making this my home for a minimum of 4 years. I am frustrated that as hard as it was to finish nursing school and to want to work, I have had no such luck so far. I will keep trying, and so should you. If I have to, I will get a temp job until something becomes available. Hopefully it won't come down to that. I've waited and worked hard to get "RN", I so much want to start my career as well. I'm praying we both get hired soon:)!
