  1. Thanx for all the replies... from SJ I'm looking at a 25 mi radius more towards palo alto as I'm trying to finish up the last crunch of credits to apply for my bsn degree fall 09. As for books I used, Saunders is definitely the way to go and I also bought the Kaplan Qbank for variety. Anyone out there have experience looking for per diem jobs and how they fare as a part job instead getting a part time job?
  2. So after some grueling studying, I passed my nclex pn. I am unsure how the jobout look is because of our current economy and I've read many threads where some LVN's do have some difficulty finding jobs. Are there any of those who are doing per diem work as LVN's and can provide some insight vs. taking a part time LVN job. I'm from the san jose area in California and also looking through job search sites such as careerbuilder, monster, etc... also any help on resume building would greatly be appreciated as I'd love to have a comparision to what I've written.
  3. I know I'm not the only person that has not pass the nclex and therefore was hoping if anyone else out there in the nursing world can shed light on experiences retaking the nclex pn after not passing the first time (i took mine up to the max 205 questions). Nearly all of my graduating class got their passing results in less than one month and when I reached the fifth week, my hopes really went down. I'm planning to get the kaplan qbank and maybe going to a kaplan study group but if anyone else can share their grueling second attempts it would be much appreciated.
